Not too surprising though if it were to happen. Tsitipas, who likes the clay, had his feet up whilst Djoko and Nadal were scrapping late at night. With a 2 set lead he'll kick himself if he dont finish the job.

Is this where Djokovic's class as a champion tells?

Get in! Up there with the best matches he's played in his career to come back from 2 sets down to make history, following the bruising semi final.

    What.
    A.
    Shame.
Hopefully there will be other opportunities for Tsitsi.
Djokovic is incredibly tough but I don't know of one tennis player who likes him.

Djokovic is a monster. So happy for him. Best mentality and stamina in history of tennis. After Wimbledon it will be 20/20/20.

I mean amongst all of the tennis players I know, international, national, county, club and parks players.
    British,French etc etc.
    Male,female it makes no difference.
People respect his ability and his record but they don't like him.

    Found this somewhere on twitter:

Since 2011, Novak Djokovic has won 18 Slams, 31 Masters, 4 ATP Finals and spent 324 weeks as #1. Meanwhile, Nadal and Federer COMBINED have won 15 Slams, 28 Masters, 1 ATP Finals and spent 132 weeks as #1.

    Monster.

First man to ever win a singles grand slam having trailed by two sets in more than one match!

He will undoubtedly end up with the most slams in history, and although Rafa will always be my favourite, Novak can genuinely claim to be the GOAT as he’s won each slam at least twice. Rafa’s Achilles heel has been the Aussie, where Novak has dominated, and Roger only has the one French because of Rafa’s domination there.

Novak has beaten Rafa both times he’s won in Paris, whereas Roger’s title there owed much to Soderling opening the door for him.

Roland G is my favourite tournament of the year, and after all my chunterings that it was a poor one this year, the quality of the last three days has more than made up for the disappointing first twelve days.

Just a bit sad that Iga lost the doubles final today. Hey ho.

Just a 2 week break before Wimbledon so anything can happen.

BBC tennis 'expert' reckons "there is no way he, Rafael Nadal and Stefanos Tsitsipas will be able to shake off all that Roland Garros fatigue in such a short space of time."

Courts are very fast at MP so probably works against Rafa.
RF was very fortunate to win at RG as Rafa was ill that year and Soderling was a dream opponent for anyone in a final, especially at RG and especially for RF.
I agree ND will probably win more than the other two. A tribute to his total dedication to his sport and his excellent gymnastic ability.
On another note I fear for the fabric of the game in this country.
In numerous matches this spring and summer, especially yesterday in Regent's Park the basic courtesies and rules of play are being ignored by new players to this country.
    * The spin is necessary to determine ends as well as serve and receive. You don't do this post knock up for obvious reasons, especially on a day like yesterday.
    * Server calls the score, not just when winning.
    * Returner does not return a serve that is clearly out and certainly not over 20 mph!
    * Players adhere to the time allowed between games and not the length of time it took Supertramp to record 'Crime of the Century'.
Your opponent isn't your domestic staff. If there is a ball your end you get it and serve with it.It's not there job to be your ballboy/girl.
    * You cannot visit the lavatory when your opponent is about to serve, only on your serve. If you do you hurry and not amble off court and chat to all and sundry.
    * If you aren't fit to play,scratch.
These all sound quite small in isolation but collectively they undermine the game and reduce it to a farce.
Just another form of cheating and we will lose many players because of it.

If we ever met and played a set together, I’ve made a mental note never to do any of these offending items!

Or get distracted by any nice female players on the adjourning court ;)

We had two very nice French men next to us. They were raising their eyebrows at this stupid bint.
Easier for chaps I suppose but never seen a lady do that!
Changing tops yes, spitting on court, yes ( Larissa Shavchenko (? spelling error ) that was a joy!).
    Quick wee,nope!
Halle field very strong,Medivet,Tsistsi ( although I'd imagine he will withdraw),Zverev,Rublev and as ever with his 1m appearance money RF.
    Queen's looks feeble in comparison.
    Sinner v Draper now.

    Draper beats Sinner.
No real surprise, numerous Brits have taken down big names in the first round, especially on the first grass court event.
I don't suppose Sinner has played much,if at all on grass. It showed.
    Tsitsi withdraws from Halle.

Just been watching the YouTube clip of Steffi when she was four.
I wonder where it went wrong!
Good draw for Murray,Paire is not in the best frame of mind.
Medvedev didn't last long in Halle.
Lost in two to Struff,a very tough draw.

I really think Queens should change it's name now it’s 2021.

It’s not ideal for either republicans like me, or I’d imagine people in same sex relationships.

Yes, nice to see Murray winning today,

Just about the ideal draw for Murray.
Paire is just turning up for the pay check and waiting until the tour returns to some state of its former life.
He is completely without desire, not that I blame him,it's just so obvious!
When I was a teenager I was coached by Friday Dhiraj, who is of Indian origins but originally from South Africa.
His brother Seps was much more militant, remember this was apartheid time. Seps said he would put a bomb in the AE or Queens,if it helped further the cause.
I would share that sentiment for Queen's Club itself,no creatures to be harmed.
It is the epitome of the elite.
Run by Old Etonians who are both very unpleasant and uninformed in their legal disputes.
I will never set foot in that club again.

Federer is effectively 40 and has been out of his prime for the majority of the period since 2011. It's impressive he's won as many as he has in that time period.

One thing I will say is that once all three of them are gone, tennis is effectively screwed. Interest in the sport will collapse, because there hasn't been a single player come through in 15 years who has an ounce of the talent or charisma of any of the three of them and it doesn't look like changing.

True re Federer but still it is an impressive fear by Djokovic imo and Nadal is only a year older. There are some things I don't like about Djokovic and I can see why some people don't like him but you can't deny he is one of the best if not the best tennis player of all time. If he wins more Grand Slams then Nadal and Federer he will be better than them in pretty much every comparison so I can't see why he wouldn't be considered the best.
As for the future of tennis I agree. These young players seem to lack not only quality but even more so the mentality. Every time they get close to beating Nadal/Djokovic they flop in the end. On the other hand this may mean that there will be more players who can win trophies unlike now where in the past 15 or so years only Djokovic/Nadal/Federer won titles.

Tsitsipas,Musetti,Sinner,Medvedev,Rublev will form big rivalries when ND,RF and ND finally retire.
The game has always replaced big names.
When Tilden went the Four Musketeers replaced him and then Budge and then Kramer...
When BJK and Court went in came Martina and Evert and then Steffi and then Henin and Clijsters and Venus and Serena.
Tennis was absorbing before the three and will remain so because of the game not the individuals.
Meanwhile in the shires a hugely ill-timed email from the club asking for funds for a defib from members after the Eriksen incident.
One of the parents of a player I coach is a paramedic and he found some good deals fifteen months ago.
The club did nothing and now asks its members to fund a machine on the back of a terrible event in another sport.
    Very poor timing.
Notwithstanding the fact that the club has been given approximately 6k from the local council throughout the pandemic and it has made £30 a day fro the last year plus from builders parking in the car park.
We bought a defib at Cuffley fifteen years ago from club funds and they were considerably more expensive then.
Let alone the fact that this wasn't a committee decision, taken by the chair.
This is the icing on the cake.
Various members have been asked to renew as they are not showing on the database, according to the chair. All have provided receipts and some, understandably are peed off.
The membership sec was not consulted and says all have remained active and can't understand why they have been bothered. One lady has received an apology, the others have not.
Not forgetting the "New enquiries into spam" occurrence when five coaching enquiries went missing in the club account as the chair had not checked her spam.
By the time I replied, two minutes after receiving her grovelling apology to the people, all had gone elsewhere.
I have no problem with volunteers, some are excellent but if they are amateurish they are worse than ****ing useless.
Tennis clubs in this country are the reason why we produce so few players of any level, not the LTA.

Bublik and Fognini tanking in a lead up to a major event is not a good look.
Draper plays Norrie and Murray v Berrettini. Evans v someone I've forgotten.
It's worth remembering that a lot of the Kazakh players are actually Russians who have been seduced by the vast wealth the Kazakh federation throws at them, especially for Davis Cup representation.
Felix Auger A beat RF in Halle.

I’m distraught. Uff. Such sad news.

Might as well give it to ND now and save the bother.

I’ve had a small flutter on Gauff for the ladies, so she’ll probably pull out next week too.

    Uff.

I find it amazing that the ageing bodies of Nadal and Federer are now failing them and yet none of the ‘young guns’ have really overtaken the big 3 at the top of the game.
