What - he'll be asking about the other 4 years!? Here is the Tweet with the rumour. https://twitter.com/louorns/status/1397470928188198913
Meh. Decent enough player but not really sure he is an improvement on what we have already got and will just block Ngakia's pathway. Accept he can cover left back, but is he really good enough to play there in the event Masina picks up an injury or would we be better signing an actual left back?
Amazed that people are turning their noses up at someone who has 30+ caps for Denmark. Have only seen him play 2 or 3 times but looked solid to me. Femenia was really good last year, but defensively he is not the best.
Perhaps suggests either Ngakia isn’t in their thinking next season (going out on loan?) or the Doig deal’s fallen through?
I've only seen him at left wingback. I don't like right footers playing left back at all. Another signing that I'm scratching my head at.
He looks fine. His versatility will be useful. As mentioned by others I hope this doesn't mean Doig is not coming, or that they are not intending to use Ngakia. I think this is how I would have felt if Ashley Fletcher was joining on a one year deal rather than five - meh, that's ok.
If this happens, I think it might suggest we aren’t bringing Ashley Young back as opposed to affecting any move for Doig.
I'd be surprised if it was a one year deal, that Tweet might just be saying that his current deal ends in 2022?
Larsen makes sense if a number of things happen: - Young is coming in as a winger option - Doig on loan to Udinese for a season (gets a full season playing regularly), comes back when Larsen leaves Article does also say Masina won’t be joining Udinese as his yearly salary of £1.4m is too much for them.
Hopefully this is primarily to provide more experienced cover for Femenia, because as I've commented elsewhere I don't think Ngakia is quite up to it yet and with Kiko's injury concerns just having them two would be a big risk. Hopefully Doig still happens and will stay as back-up to Masina.
Why? He plays for Hibs. Being a starter for a Serie A side is a huge step up. Look at Aaron Hickey for example
I'd assume it's this. I like Ngakia but he didn't get a look in. A full season somewhere would do wonders as he's clearly talented.
Well if this is the case I hope Ngakia gets a loan move to a decent Championship club next season. He desperately needs game time.
He would be a little stupid if he turned it down. He's a very attack minded defender who I reckon could easily play the wingback position at Udinese. I'd imagine he could get a fair amount of game time in an excellent league against very good opponents. It's a win win in my book. I'd prefer him challenging Masina though.
Unfortunately I'd imagine you saying that about most of the squad along with the rest of us. Frightening wages for kicking a football around. But none of us would refuse it.
Which makes it an odd claim that Udinese couldn’t afford it - especially when they are very likely paying Deulofeu far more than that to sit on a physios table most weeks.
Yes. Though I really wouldn't be surprised if it turned out we were subsidising Deulofeu's wages somehow.
https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/f...nds-watford-boost-over-potential-summer-deal/ Apparently he won’t be heading to Elland Road this summer.
Wobby reporting that no deal done yet and probably won't be before the Euros. Which means it could be announced any second now.
It is a meh signing, and I see what you mean, but how likely is it that Xisco will play Ngakia anyway? He almost completely froze JN out at Championship level (I get Kiko was our starting RB, but there's no reason to forget about Ngakia completely), so unfortunately I don't think Ngakia is getting a game any time soon
