Maybe, he will be getting some first team action this season, possibly from the bench or if we have any kind of injury crisis up front?
He signed a contract because he was reassured he wouldn’t be getting first team minutes. So I guess we will see him in the cup games which will be good.
Maybe Celtic is a better term. Strong, stocky but prone to weight gain. Rooney or Jocky Wilson would be examples.
I know what you mean but I think that's a ridiculous generalisation. So Jockey Wilson was over-weight because he had Celtic ancestors - not because he drank 20 pints for breakfast and ate more confectionery than Agustus Gloop?
For climatic reasons, Irish people have traditionally tended to load up on carbs. Cultural norms embed such habits. https://extra.ie/2017/07/26/featured/health-fears-for-overfat-irish Btw, the great man was Jocky. He didn't qualify as a jockey.
It'll be interesting for how long he goes for. The optimist in me wants it to be 6 months at League 1, see how it goes and, if he's successful, bring him back in January to help us in the second half of the season. The reality is probably for the season, see how it goes and what league we are in next season as to whether he stays to compete for a squad place here in 2021/22.
I think Cassidy will be number 68 on the release list. This loaning to lower league clubs never works out for our players.
Yeah but we signed Obbi Oulare for £6m and he was clearly more than twice the player Assombalonga is (and not just height wise).
Confirmed new deal and loan. https://www.watfordfc.com/draft/article/official-new-contract-loan-for-cassidy
He has more potential than either Folivi and Jakubiak who were loaned out to a lower level than L1 first. Cassidy needs to grab his chance knock in a few goals work on his overall game and come back ready to sit on the bench for us before making a claim to a spot. Good luck Ryan and keep working hard.
As long as he's not expected to occupy the centre halves he'll be okay. Get him facing the goal by playing off a main striker. He has a good football brain, looks like he's really developing well physically and at the tail end of last season, coming back from injury, seemed to have gained half a yard of pace. My main worry being he isn't a clean striker of the ball and often drags shots with his left foot. Impossible to say anything about his heading as the U23s rarely crossed the ball! With his back against a defender though he'd barely get off the ground. He doesn't lack confidence and works like a demon. I just hope he finds some form early on and takes his chance when it comes. It'll be an interesting loan to watch out for.
