What a ridiculous reply. The one time everyone should stand up and demand answers from these hapless idiots you suggest saying nothing. That’s the attitude that let Baz asset strip the club.
The worst thing is: we now have to go from hoping Arsenal help us out to hoping West Ham help us out.
Right now, and it depends on how West Ham get on tonight, but West Ham could still be vulnerable to relegation, although it's going to take a match-fixing style run of massive defeats and victories to send them down now. But say they've been partying after beating us. United away is not really the place you want to go if you're not at it. It's not impossible to think West Ham could get thrashed. Say they lose 6-0, then their GD would be -19 and Villa -26. Ok, it would still need Villa to win 4-0 for them to overhaul West Ham.....and also we'd have to win 5-0 at Arsenal. So clearly a lot of crazy things need to fall into place, starting with tonight. But say they do have a heavy defeat, I think that would mean West Ham would have to take the Villa game seriously. I know this is all very unlikely and straw clutching, but I'm trying to offer a reason why West Ham's attitude may not be beach just yet,
I'll donate £10,000 to a charity of your choice if that happens. I won't even bother asking you to match it if it doesn't.
Put a £1 on an Acca and I'm sure you'll win more than £10k. Utd 6 West Ham 0 West Ham 0 Villa 4 Arsenal 0 Watford 5 West Ham relegated.
I think the Spammers will not take it easy against Villa regardless of what happens tonight, they will beat Villa me thinks.
Have you been on the morning sauce ? I have to agree Gino has not got a clue what he is doing. The left hand does one thing, the right does the other. All words are meaningless. And the silence in the corridors is overwhelming. Poor Vladmir must be wondering what he has gotten into. Undermined from the start.
Bully boy compartment. Put the shutters up Moog so we don't hear the riff raff. You know what Nath gets like when someone disturbs his bourbon hour.
Is this Snowpiercer II ? I've already bagged the first compartment. We can jettison the happy clappers when the time is appropriate.
Sorry Smudge the captains table is only for those who were bedwetting and spitting fury after the cup final. We can probably sort you out something with extra leg room though.
Everyone should be very clear that I started this movement, have taken much abuse for it, but, on current (and past evidence) are more certain than ever that this football club is currently rudderless and in grave danger should we, as fans, not call the owner and his gang of clueless idiots out for their slack “management” of the club.
Ok. You can have your own carriage but I dispute the claim that you ‘started the movement.’ I’ve wanted the Pozzos out since before I even heard of them.
Na. How can you climb aboard a life raft and proudly wave your Watford flag simultaneously? They'll be "proud of the lads" as they slowly inhale water whilst sinking to the ocean bed.
"Many of the players who signed for the club during the five-year stay in the Premier League did not have relegation clauses in their contracts." I have just read this in the latest Watford article on The Athletic. How could Pozzo be so irresponsible? For a club of our stature, clauses like these should have been absolute non-negotiables in any of our PL era signings. I'm actually appalled that he would risk the financial stability of the club in that manner. You could argue that had we insisted on these clauses when signing the likes of Capoue, Pereyra etc. we would never have bagged them in the first place. However, is the long term financial stability worth the risk? I don't think it is.
It's another example of their arrogance, complacency and belief they would never be relegated. They knew better than everyone else.
Yes that is senseless. So we have to pay Gray 70k a week for example for x years. Get what we deserve I guess ..
It’s easy to say that in isolation but I think without knowing how common they are in football, rather than say Football Manager, it’s difficult for any of us to really know how viable it is to actually put such clauses in and still attract players worth having. We consistently had one of the lowest wage bills and lowest salary to turnover ratios in the Premier League throughout our 5 years. I imagine at the very least in return for relegation clauses players would demand higher salaries. So how much better off would we really be now? This assumes of course Leventhal is right. I’m pretty sure there was a point a few weeks ago when he was quoted as saying most players in the squad did have relegation clauses...
I can feel a Watford based Christmas movie coming on 'The Relegation Clause' has a nice ring to it. Welbeck stars, dressed as an elf; trying to scrape together £5.5m on Christmas Eve to buy himself out of his own contract before the window slams open.
Yes most arrogant men in football if you ask me. Even though lots of us warned them about it years before
It’s blinding obvious why. Most of the quality players - Delefeou, Sarr etc etc would not have signed in the first place, I’d there were relegation clauses. The number of numpty supporters we have, who think they know better than the owners is hilarious
