Why would we not go for Lansbury? Bags of FL experience No doubt keen to make the step up and prove himself Contract is running out so available for a great price (for a HG player), thus low risk No more space for foreign players in our squad, but 3 empty spots for homegrown players Above reasons mean that this is a low-risk move I highly doubt that the club think that a better, bargain HG centre mid option will present itself this window, so I have to ask, if the stories in the paper are true, why are we letting Derby sign this guy? What is Dowling's job again?
At a recent fans forum, Scott Duckbrie intimated that there were some young, home grown targets who were coming once we got into the prem. I assume we don't want to waste a slot on langsbrie as they will soon all be filled by legends.
Lansbury is young and home grown compared to the 30+ year old pile of crap we have been signing I personally think Lansbury is a very good signing
And people wonder why we don't go for British players when the likes of Henri Lansbury can demand ridiculous wages from a Premier League club.
Not too worried over this one. He's decent in the Championship, but he's been there for 4.5 years. Is he really a step up on what we already have? If he was a cheap option as a backup player then fine, but he isn't someone we should be investing heavily in, so I'm happy with the club's stance on this.
Being reported that he's having a medical at Aston Villa http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/577552/Henri-Lansbury-Aston-Villa-transfer-news
Mad thing is they will probably pay him double what we would. Realistically Villa's best hope will be playoffs this season so there's no gurantee he'll be playing Prem football any time soon.
significantly weakens Forest, who are even more likely to now get relegarted to League 1. shame as it is one of my favourite awaydays, and will miss it next season.
I still anticipate a loan from Villa to Udinese with a sub lease to us via Belgium FC, and an option to buy at £8m
