http://www.football-espana.net/59345/espanyol-miss-out-gomez? Makes sense. He and his wife just had a baby after all, perhaps they want to settle in Spain.
I believe we went & got him on QFS's instructions so I would think the club would be happy to get their money back given the chance. He might just have been not fully-fit but he hasn't exactly looked well suited to the Prem so far. Great passing at times but immobile & not physically strong enough
Agreed he has shown flashes but nothing more. I wonder what odds you could get get for Amrabat, Suarez and Juardo joining him?
I'm going to Barcelona on Sunday - If I break up with the gf beforehand, ill have a spare seat next to me to take him with me!
I genuinely believe he is one who would become amazing for us given the chance. I do agree that his first season wasn't ground breaking, but in the flashes I saw, I saw qualities which none of our other players have. However, with Doucoure, Capoue, Behrami and Watson, we're not starved in that position.
I find it disappointing when we write players off after just a few months. It's not as if he has shown nothing but the system didn't help him apart from West Ham when we passed it quickly and all of a sudden he looked decent. I wouldn't be surprised if he left but feel we may let a very good player leave without giving him a chance. Both Ighalo and Deeney had slow starts and came good.
I personally didn't think he was that great but as you (and I) have said, the system might have been to his detriment. I remember that first half (and even a bit of the second half) against WHU where even though we were 2-0 down at the break, we played pretty good and didn't deserve to be losing. Everyone played pretty well, including Suarez. I'd want us to give him a chance this season, but he was clearly a QSF signing so if Quique comes calling, he'll probably go. Edit: He was prone to the odd hospital pass as well
Very few members of the team looked good from January onwards, and I feel the blame for that lies with QSF and the tactical approach. The fact that he wasn't retained despite us staying up speaks volumes about where the club feels the problem was, and it wasn't Suarez.
West Ham was one of our best performances of 2016, if only Flores had taken anything away from that game rather than ignoring it all. Suarez was excellent, and Jurado very good centrally, too. We passed and moved properly because there was no big front two to aim for.
being linked with Sporting Gijon but it could just be people reading too much into a couple of tweets http://futbolistos.es/bombazo-mario-suarez-posible-fichaje-del-sporting/
This will be a right result if true. Shall we start a crowd funding page to pay for his flight to Barcelona?
Get rid. I want us to revert to the Championship promotion squad, less Fessi and Abdi and Pudil. We can prove that the Premier League is actually weaker than the Championship by surviving with a squad weaker than the one which got us up, which is pretty much what we have at the moment.
If there's truth in this it likely means that we're back interested in Mario Lemina.... Perhaps a double deal with Juve
Blow this for a game of soldiers! I am a major shareholder in FIAT* and I demand we are given their entire squad,a life size statue of Dino Zoff and as much gold as we can eat NOW! * I have an Abarth.
Rumours from local media in Valencia that they're interested in Suarez and that he wants a return to Spain... https://twitter.com/DepCOPEValencia/status/764185582876655616
Not on the bench today and this tweet says he's close to signing for Valencia. https://twitter.com/jpmuz/status/764439123709005824
I think Walt has made it clear he is not wanted. Especially when today we had 3 RB/RWB's on the bench and Watson.
