Here's a daft thought that crossed my mind... Generally speaking, do you think players are bothered by a team's colour? For instance, would they rather sign for a more common blue, white or red kitted side than wear our yellow or, say, Palermo's pink kit? Yes I'm clutching at straws but maybe some of our targets don't like the idea of looking like an actual hornet in our kit. :dismay:
I feel like this effect would have been negated now that we've worked it out and stop splashing bright red all over our yellow kits like we're Ronald McDonald. With black and yellow primaries, we look like a real team nowadays.
Well sadly for Perotti he doesn't have Dortmund to choose from. As well as us, he had/has Genoa, Napoli, Valencia and maybe even West Ham to choose between...all of whom play in common colours. I accept the fact that they're all significantly less tinpot than us is almost certainly the main factor, I was just casually speculating whether our club colours would have any meaningful affect on the choice of a neutral like Perotti.
Wouldn't be funny for defences next season having to face Perotti and Berghuis on either side of the attack! :sign13:
Has there been a team in recent memory promoted to the premier league that has made as many changes as we appear to be doing? I honestly can't think of one.
We've made 7(?) signings so far. 2014/15 QPR made 8 (20th) 2014/15 Leicester made 7 (14th) 2014/15 Burnley made 9 (19th) 2013/14 Cardiff made 8 (20th) 2013/14 Hull made 10 (16th) 2013/14 Palace made 16(!) (11th) Can't be arsed to do any more. Those are all just summer transfers by the way.
Wouldn't expect to spend £7m on Perotti and £3.5m on Berghuis. It would be unfair on Berghuis if we're dragging our heels over that deal, waiting to see if Perotti signs. Imagine how formidable it could potentially be if we did sign both!
I said a while back that I have a feeling he'll end up going where the best money is. As it stands, as far as I know, that's still us. It's not dead until someone betters it or the club call the whole thing off.
Berghuis is now in a Waford shirt. If Perotti had a change of heart & decided he did want to come after all, would Gino still be up for it?
Are the club likely to still be in for him if the opportunity still exists? I was interested in opinions.
People are giving you opinions. If you want the opinion of the club then this is the wrong place to look.
