Decent back up striker, won't rock the boat if he spends the season on the bench, and as I recall a popular personality in the squad

Cant see this happening unless he is happy being fourth choice behind Deeney, Vydra, Ighalo/Ighalo replacement.

Would be similar to the Gilmartin signing really - popular in the dressing room, unlikely to ever make it onto the pitch.

I wonder if Mo Johnston was linked in 'Here Is The City', whether it'd be posted here and discussed as if it was real life and not ludicrous.

I reckon Mo Johnston could do a job.

Probably couldnt play the full 90, but would be good to have as back up

Wouldn't complain. Not a signing to win matches but he was immensely popular with the players last time he was here. Always helps to have a happy group of players.

The story comes from Italian sport newspaper Corriere dello Sport, Here Is The City is just repeating it. Wouldn't surprise me if there's some truth in it.

Is Corriere Dello Sport the pullout in the middle of the Gazzetto Dello Sport?

Actually he would fit in with a more technical continental type football than the cloggers in the championship.

He's 33 in September and has barely scored since 2012. He may be a really nice bloke but seems rather pointless unless he's just coming to carry the kit bag and tell a few jokes.

    Honestly, I've had enough.

Can we ban any reference to that HITC site?

I'm a good bloke. I'll hang around on the bench if they need me and do a few warmups while the crowd chant the Jumbolina song.

Haha I thought perhaps he could be a translator like the little fat bloke at Chelsea always used to do but our manager is fluent enough in English. Doyley's scoring record is as good as his. He was never good enough in the first place however people want to justify it, a nice touch on him maybe but pace of a forklift and turns like a Scania.

I would agree that HITC are generally about a reliable as Teamtalk (ie not very) but this isn't actually their story.

I would have posted the original source instead but it's in Italian. I've now though added a Google translation of it at the start of this thread.

Not sure what he has done since he left us, but I always thought he was a better player than he was given credit for.

A lot would depend on what he has been doing, but I assume he must have been doing good wherever he has been, otherwise why would be interested in him?

Would prefer an unknown Polish guy to a guy who we know can't score at Championship level.

    That said, always loved Geijo.

Didn't really get a run of games under his belt though did he. Always looked classy when he did play. Not saying he'll get a run of games in the Prem either and this deal probably won't happen anyway.

I don't think any of them are anywhere near ready unfortunately. Jakubiak could probably hang around for the under 21 games and cup games but you'd want him out playing Championship/League One football ideally. Ikpeazu and Mensah sound like they have a lot of improving to do.

I hope he doesn't come back, it's too much hassle re-following him on Twitter.

In this unfortunate Udinese's season, Gejio was unexpectedly in team and honestly, was better than many others.
Never complained for being on bench or on the stands but kept training professionally. When in an injuries emergency he was called in first team, he was ready and wasn't bad at all.
The kind of player useful in a team.

Always thought he wasn't actually that bad but would definitely prefer Gestede if we are to sign one striker, even if he is £6m more
