Sannino is doing a good job of getting the group together and making them put a shift in every game. This guy seems like he doesn't want to be here and I can't see him being a Sannino kind of player.
Anyone see Sean Murray's response when the challenge was made? He didn't even look at the ref, nor the player, nor the card being shown... He just walked away in disgust. A bit similar to my disgust at our supporters who pick on other supporters who are more vulnerable than them.
He was that bad that in my head I was questioning how he is a professional footballer, he has a poor first touch and he give the ball away every time he got it. I was hoping that we would take him off and put Merkel on at half time. The tackle was stupid and he didn't need to make it and it come at a time she we were looking like we could grab another goal and kill the game off.
He had a shocking game but he needs to be given a chance. He made a good start to his QPR career and had also been doing very well in the French top flight for a while. He also happens to be an international for a half decent nation. There is no need for all this "f off back to QPR" nonsense, particularly from the same people that are happy to tollerate Hector Bellerin and Nyron Nosworthy. No one seems to be mentioning the tackles that went in during the first half? George Friend and Chalobah both got away with 2 footed lunges and also Ledesma's wild kick at Forestieri went unpunished. It looked like we had a ref that was happy for strong challenges to go in.
People are happy to tolerate the likes of Bellerin & Nosworthy because they can actually put in a shift unlike this joker.
Aside from it potentially costing us the game he could have seriously hurt another pro. The other tackles were nowhere near that bad, strong tackling is fine but what Diakite did was just ridiculous, I still can't understand why anyone would jump into a tackle like that. Sannino goes on about O'Nien all the time, I'd rather see him out there than this ******.
The bloke is a liability, he looked very rusty during the first half and was playing as a box to box midfielder trying to take people on. He didn't dribble the ball rather bundled it forward trying to run through players rather than go round them which resulted us in losing possession virtually all the time. It looked like he had no control of himself when he jumped in, he would have won that ball had he slid in normally yet for some reason the imbecile went two footed. We were massively let off that Ben Gibson was even more of an idiot. I normally am willing to give a player a chance but I honestly don't want him to play for us again as he will cost us points in the long run.
He's a Watford player until the end of the season presumably costing WFC quite a lot. It is idiotic to criticise him every time he makes a mistake. Every player needs our support if we want our team to thrive. Save the moaning for the ref, other side, wife etc, even kick the neighbours cat if needed.
That's not really happening though is it let's be honest 'every time' - It's been one game. He was actually SO awful yesterday but he does deserve a few more games as he been off the pitch for a long while but I'm not sure that excuse holds weight after what young Tommie Hoban did yesterday. We'll see though.
Three reasons why we should send him back to QPR now. 1) the stupid **** got himself sent off 2) the stupid **** did not clap for Sir Tom 3) he's a stupid ****
The guy was viewed as a liability by QPR fans and he didn't disappoint. This whole 'needs time' thing might stand for players new to the English game, but Diakite isn't. Stupid, reckless tackle and a rubbish performance to boot. Think it's been said that some players may just not give a **** about where they are playing, which might indicate why he didn't celebrate the goal.
Just seen the challenge on WP....no way was that a straight red card. Not sure why he went in with two feet like he did but he never made contact with the Boro player (rather the other way round). Diakite certainly got to the ball before Whitehead just ran into/tumbled over him. I know the rules have changed a lot in the years I've been gone but I don't even think that warranted a yellow. That said it's easy to pause and freeze frame forward. The ref and one linesman at least seemed to get it right the other times so it's all good.
Having seen the tackle on FL show, it was not as bad as I had thought, albeit a little reckless. We have him for the rest of the season, so we just need to get on with it. He may be of some use at some stage, just not for the next 3 games or just under 1/5th (20%) of the games that we have left. We have made many poorer decisions when it comes to signings in the past.
The texter to local radio had it right - when he said we should appeal the red card, in the hope that the suspension is doubled to six weeks.
I've read on QPR boards that he suffers quite badly from depression (could be bi-polar). A lot of them also think that there is a very good footballer in there somewhere. If Beppe decides to play him again, I hope our often moronic fans give him a fair go, rather than getting on his back straight away and creating a self-fulfilling prophecy. Appalling yesterday though.
I bet our fans aren't moronic enough to tackle like that. He came with a bad disciplinary record and he goes and does that yesterday. He's the moronic one! That or he just doesn't care about snapping someone's leg, in that case he's still a moron.
What? 1) it wasn't that bad a tackle - stupid, yes. 2) The point is that if Beppe gives him another chance so should we, or we are two-footed studs up tackling ourselves in the foot.
It was much more than that tackle though. He must have lost the ball 90% of the time he received it. He was a complete liability yesterday and we'd have been better off with 10 men from the start. He's not the new boo boy, he's just sh*te.
The tackle really wasn't that bad. Saw it on the FLS for the first time and was quite surprised by the disparity between the descriptions and comments on here and the reality. He won the ball comfortably and I'd dare say he was in control. Their bloke knew it and went down like he'd been shot in the shins. Gibson was closer to FF for the tackle for the pen than Diatike was to their bloke. Unfortunately feet off the ground = straight ref these days but that in itself is pretty pathetic.
Diakite is QPR's Ellington. Both cost £3.5m We are QPR's Derby, Xanthi or Preston. Pick which you prefer.
It was a terrible, stupid tackle. A split second later then he could've ended the career of someone. As a professional footballer you'd think that going in 2 footed in front of the ref would be one of the first things you wouldn't do. A mistimed tackle is one thing, but going in 2 footed, completely different. The guy is a liability.
Come off it! It was a red card by the modern standard but probably wouldn't have even been a foul 10 years ago. He won the ball comfortably but their bloke took the opportunity afforded to him to get an opponent sent off and went down. Hey ho. I'd expect any of our players to do the same. But lets not make out like it was some sort of scything knee-breaking tackle from behind.
Although his feet left the ground, they were grounded before, during and after contact with the ball (which he got to first). Not a 'career ending tackle' in a million years. Not condoning it, but not as horrific as a lot of people are letting their disappointment with his general play turn it into.
And we play in the modern standard, not 10 years ago. Its a clear 2 footed tackle. Even if he hadn't gone down it's still a red card offence. Having both feet off the floor leaves you with a lot less control than having one foot on the ground. He's lucky he won the ball but like i said, at any other moment in time it could've been a lot worse. Just because someone hasn't ended up injured doesn't make it ok to do it.
As he gave the ball away time after time, I was thinking we'd found the new Fabbrini. But Fabbrini would never go in for a tackle like that. I hope that's the last we see of Diakite, and serious questions must be asked of whoever wanted to bring him here.
Lets hope we never see him in a Watford shirt again. If he was any good Harry would not of let him go out on loan.
