http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sp...ws/4559030.Could_Rasiak_make_Watford_return_/ not sure how much speculation is in this but if smith goes....should we go for rasiak?
Wouldn't mind if we got him but it shouldn't be over the wage budget. Not sure he's the type of striker we need anyway now with Graham at the club.
yes, he was quality, always had an eye on goal and a repeat of his goal at charlton is welcome sign him up! Not sure if we can afford his wages - even with the 15pc wage drop,
I would welcome Rasiak back with open arms, even though we have Graham we could still use somebody like Rasiak. ( IMO Rasiak is class specially for the Championship)
No. Rasiak does pop up with a decent amount of goals, but his all round game is nowhere near as good as Graham. Thanks for the effort last season Gregorz, but I don't want him back. We can get better value for money.
Hmmm see how many of his goals made a difference last season. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8cGRPOLOeoE
At his best he can be a big bonus in this division but the T's & C's need to be right for us... He knows the club, management and players so that's a bonus, but last season he could count on Smith & Priskin around him, not so this... Dunno, I reckon there's better, fresher talent out there tho and Lord Rasiak seems like a bit of a lazy option to me... Also, it still doesn't solve the EllingTONNE problem. I feel we should pursue a swap deal for him as a priority instead... There's gotta be some disgruntled Premier league squad players or SPL players we could pinch... Guys like Gallagher who we just missed out on who are under the radar etc...
I've just read that report and it sounds as if Watford want our opinions of Rasiak and what our reaction would be if we were to sign him. Sort of like we've run out of options, Rasiak's available (was with us last year, can score goals at Championship level ect.) and we're thinking of signing him but Watford are just making sure it's the right move and want our approval as he could cost quite abit.
I liked the Rasiak, Tamas partnership but my one thought about it was, that neither actually chase and close down and hassle constantly and or continually in the oppo half (GR = age, TP just not his style though impoved in that department) - Having seen Danny G play now in a few games and his energy and his style of play ( very keith Mercer) - i feel that GR would combine pefectly well with DG leaving Cleverly as the link. With the work rates of players like Cowie and Harley and for me in my team - i'd be happy playing Eustace as the defemding midfielder, ball winner for his grit and experience, we would look like a competent scoring team again. If TS goes as is likely will be a shame to lose his contribution - Didn't GR state at the end of last season he would take a pay cut to come back to wfc? in this day and age that says and means a bit, surely - with all the shyte thrown about the Vic of the canuting players who do uck all on huge wages - i find it refreshing and I really hope the wobbly observer rumour happens. And if GR don't get into the first team, then he can start work on the east stand as per his song! DG 20 goals GR 17 goals TC 11 goals LD - none - but a shot that goes out for a throw in for entertainment value. there you go - with a few splattered around the other players we have a forward line able to compete. Go for it JR!
How about a pay as you score deal? 20k basic salary then: £150 for the first goal, 400 for the second and then for any goals over 5 in a season we give him £1000? Plus bonuses for appearances and assists. Could add up to a tidy sum for him.
Dunno... A 30 year old isn't really a long term view... Danny Graham could really be one for the future, Rasiak feels like a lazy/easy option to bring a 'name' in... I'm undecided...
"Each of the big Premier League clubs have young strikers in need of experience but most are untried at the Championship level so will the Watford hierarchy opts for a more older and familiar face?" Oh God. How do these people become journalists? Its a question mark for crying out loud...
They should definatly go for it, not only is he a class player he brings experience, creativity, height, goals and he can play passing and hoofball football which cant really be a bad thing, he would also work well with Danny Graham and I think Danny Graham could learn from Rasiak. So IMO if its possible its a must.
I don't really think he's the type of striker we need now that we have Graham, but if he was avaliable very cheap and lowers his wage demands then him coming back wouldn't be bad thing, aslong as it is him AS WELL as a fast, agile striker.
Although I would like a fast striker, if we got Gragzorz would it still be as important if we play the ball down the wings and cross abit like Newcastle have been doing so far this season ?
If he drops his wage demands enough I'm with you on this one Paddy. What did your mate jimbob tell you on this one PYAON
I really wanted us to sign Rasiak. He showed glimpses of true class while with us last season and he had an eye for goal, I don't know exactly but he had a decent strike rate. It's just a shame we couldn't afford his wages, even after he was willing to take a cut.
having seen few quality clevely crosses mid week and with lansbury and hopefully smith we have gr8 crossing ability and rasiak is a perfect target....not even mention his techinal ability (goals v charlton and palace come to mind) with graham showing some gd runs and pace i think rasiak would fit in well in our attacking setup.
Yes please!! Please!! If we get him then I think we'll do so much better than we could at the moment. The man has pure class.
Scores goals, creates goals, lacks pace but we have other quick forwards now. Would be a great foil for Graham. Sign him up if his wages are in any way affordable (or maybe give him a big signing-on fee so that his wages can be kept in line with the rest of the squad's)
i think it all depends on his wages if there low enough then great get him in as you cant argue with his scoring record
At the moment we aer trying to play with two wingers but no hight in the middle. He will be great to pick out Cowies runs and getting on the end of some of Cleverleys and Smiths crosses
Agree I would rather we went for someone younger with more pace even if they are unproven, Graham is not the quickest so having rasiak and him together we would be very predictable.
Just heard from a good friend, that the deal is close to bring him back permanently. Not unhappy about this one bit if it goes through.
No, no, no. Rasiak is not the answer. Can't believe any of you are getting so excited about the possibility of him signing. But I'll be the first to admit it if I'm wrong.
Once Smith leaves we'll have no creativity. Any young players with any potential certaintly won't come to us. We need to battle it out. Rasiak has the hight, strength, touch and skill. My god has he got the skill. If he comes back I'll be so happy for the rest of the season.
Theres no point in signing Rasiak, wed have to break our wage cap and hes not the player we need at the moment, hes too similar to Graham. We need a quick, mobile striker
