Some Statistics comparing our 2 managers against each other - Overall Stats, Home, Away, Per Game Averages
Interesting...thanks for posting and taking the time to do this. Other than the bar graphs, the Zola/Sannino graphic is pretty damn good too.
This is genuinely true. Such rotten luck. They say the loss of one player shouldn't be an excuse, but this is Almen Archimedes Abdi we are talking about.
Absolutely, agree with you on that one. The fact that both managers conceded the same number of goals on the road as they scored at home is odd.... Sannino : Scored 26 Home : Conceded 26 Away Zola : Scored 13 Home : Conceded 13 Away
The contrast I find most strike is Zola's home/away record versus Sannino's. Zola's goals scored/conceded in a home v away comparison is fairly close, but Sannino's record shows a marked difference. Either he was extraordinarily lucky at home or the away form is a mental issue.
Very interesting. Two things that skew the comparison slightly: Zola presumably had an input into signings, whereas Beps was stuck with what he inherited Zola presumably had an input into pre-season unfitness regime, which Beps had to address. Maybe an instruction to get stuck in if you can't run around was partly responsible for our dreadful disciplinary record under Beps, though it doesn't explain dissent. (I remember that when the sainted Bassett took over from GT, he complained that Watford players didn't surround the ref to protest against decisions against them, which was his version of playing football the right way.)
If my maths are correct (doubtful) then the average goals per game under sannino isn't 2.2 as stated but actually 1.69
