Not a good source and quite possibly not true, but according to football Rumours, he will not be joining WFC!!!

Has Dyche actually been sacked?

Because if he has, could we be facing a Wolves type saga, when they got rid of Mick McCarthy before they had secured his replacement? I am not happy if this is the case!!!

I think in all likelihood someone has posted this based on the conjecture and uncertainty of the situation. I would be very surprised if Zola was not to end up as our manager.

The club appears to be happy to allow the press to speculate without a simple confirmation or denial of what is being said, so they can't blame us for doing the same thing FFS :rant:

 

Until the club say otherwise, Dyche is our manager, irrespective of BBC Sport or Sky Sports News sources.

The attempt at drama on here is worse than an episode of Hollyoaks. How about everyone does what they did before the Internet, stop scratting around for rumour, assume nothing has changed until officially announced, and get a grip! God if I wasn't a Watford Fan I would love to come and do some trolling on here as some people are starting to embarrass themselves with how needy they are for info! I would point out that restructure takes time to finalise, the club only announced yesterday who the directors and chairmen are ( and I don't recall anyone guessing the Chairman before the announcement) and therefore an announcement will be made over the manager in due course!

The BBC & SSN only picked the story up from an article in Italy claiming that the Pozzo's had a verbal agreement with Zola. If the Pozzo's have been looking at the club since febuary we dont know when this verbal agreement took place if at all or if either party has changed their minds since then. Hopefully Dyche stays, but until we get official word its all speculation

All the club have to do is say 'Dyche has been sacked/Dyche hasn't been sacked/Dyche is on gardening leave'.

 

If Watford or any other club were to react to any rumour, heresay or speculative comment in the media they would allow themselves to be manoeuvred into positions put upon them by said media.

By not issuing a statement regarding the managerial position it should be taken that, as GoingDown has said, Dyche is still manager.
They are therefore in control of what they say rather than being controlled by news outlets.

 

This thread is exactly why the club should have come out with comments on basic things, such as where we are with the manager. Just as I predicted, fans are now going to come up with all sorts of theories. It is so avoidable. Everything could be going smoothly or everything could be in total meltdown.....who knows, but one thing for sure, fans will certainly speculate and that will only lead to bad vibes.

I agree with this as a rule of thumb. But does a direct, recorded quote from the man who owns this club count as "hearsay"?

 

It may be that Zola is trying to take advantage of his strong negotiating position by screwing as high a salary as he can. I am surprised that a so called astute businessman is prepared to rely on a "verbal agreement" in the organisation of his business, particularly with regard to footballers and managers.

 

It would be very unfair to use my parents phonebill to phone clubcall everyday, they're on a pension now.

I've no idea why G.Pozzo has given quotes regarding Zola to parts of the Italian media.

But..

The only parts of the Italian media I've seen him quoted in are localised news outlets based in Napoli (or I've a selective memory to help my point ) so maybe, just maybe, they've been exaggerated or, to use a defence often used, mis-quoted?
To some extent I don't really care that much about what he has said to them. I'll wait until confirmation, one way or the other, is posted on the official site. (Or the Watford Observer site about five hours beforehand!!)

When it comes down to it none of us know what is going on behind closed doors of a business we don't own.
I'm not defending Pozzo because he's a God for saving the club but neither am I going to demand answers right this minute because it's not suiting my personal timescale.

Answers will come regarding Dyche and Zola.
Whether people like the answers we get will make for more speculation and even more threads on here!
