a guy on twitter...(off to a bad start) that 6 more are in advanced stages of negotiations and more will be revealed in the wobby tomorrow.
Daniel Pudil is signing permanently it seems From an interview on Thursday: "“We would like to play in the Premier League, of course. But there are a lot of games still to play". Kind of hinting that he'll be here next season.
Even if we can't get Vydra permanently right now I'd still be very happy if we came out of this window with Forestieri, Abdi, Ekstrand, Pudil and Battocchio on permanent deals.
Not sure why but i'd like Bia aswell, cant see him getting one untill the summer though but i think he has a lot to offer and will play a larger role in the second half of the season
Personally I don't see the need to sign any of the loanees on a permanent deal until the end of the season.
Well I've heard they both suffer from alapesia so it must be hair extensions they are both getting #aefevansintheknow
The window has closed, and we have only signed one of our loanees permanently, and as I suggested in my earlier post above, I am not the least bit worried that that is the case, and I think the reason the club has not committed to signing the players is that we have done so well we are probably well ahead of the Pozzo's expectations in our development. It is my belief that if we gain promotion quite a few of the loan players we have now will be deemed surplus to requirements for the Premier League; which IMO is why we have not signed them permanently at this stage. As we could be stuck with several players on long contracts that we might not want, because we will be looking to sign even better players. People joke about Di Natlie coming over to us, but if we get to the Premiership I think there is every chance he just might sign for us, and if not him, then players of his equal or even better than him will be moving permanently to The Vic!!! However, if we do not get promoted then we will still have the option of signing permanently most the loanees that we want or even renew the loans.
We won't sign Di Natale. Whilst some Udinese fans have been a bit disgruntled at the attention given to us, that'd (completely understandably) push them over the edge. It'd completely destroy relationships between the two clubs. He's 35 anyway - why take him away from the club he's given most of his career to and risk him in a new league?
I'm not saying you're wrong with your theory, but I think players like Vydra, Abdi, Battocchio and Ekstrand could easily perform in a higher league, so I doubt this is the reason for players not signing a contract. It's more to do with balancing the books. If we sign these guys, then we have to take on their salaries. The Pozzo's will only go so far in supporting the club but the club has to stand on its own two feet when it comes to player wages. This shouldn't be a problem, but we do need to offload a number of unused squad players, which we have found hard to do in this window. I think the FL hearing coinciding with the final week of the transfer window did not help with getting players out of the club, and this is probably the key reason why contract negotiations have been put back to the summer.
I agree, although, who wouldn't want them as a backup? We'd have the strength in depth that even Liverpool and Arsenal lack. Watford will definitely miss Iniesta when he inevitably picks up a niggle in our 5-0 demolition of united, putting us 9 points clear at the top of the league, but Abdi would be a reasonable replacement, I think.
Can you write and tell the rest of us a bit about what it's like to live in your world? I have a feeling it's both fantastic and terrifying.
What I find truly terrifying is whatever goes on in your mind, especially your avatar is a clue to it :scared1:
