Youth to the rescue!!

Looking at the options we have and the likelihood of signing big players does anyone think that next year is all about our younger players?

Looking at possible future legends or match winners next year I'm hoping the following players produce something above our expectations!

Scott Loach - eyed by prem sides, by all accounts he is potentially another great watford keeper!

JJ O'Toole - a good season although not brilliant. Can he make that next step and become more consistant? Scores a few so hopefully yes!

Theo Robinson - scored a lot last year and is clearly keen to impress. Has the early attributes but, again, can he handle the pressure?

    Any other suggestions?

I think Loach, O'Toole, Ainsworth and Henderson all have a chance of breaking through. Avinel's contract is up but he looked quite handy in the Carling Cup last season. Robinson I'm not so sure about. League 2 is one thing. Deserves a crack though.

Bangura, Ashikodi and Parkes seem to be going no where development-wise, and Osbourne is glued to the treatment room. Time for all 4 of them to do something this season or find a new employer IMO.

Make or break time for this group of youngsters.

Parkes got given a two year contract didn't he?

Bangura, Ashikodi etc - the more experienced of the young players need to do something this season.

those 4 i feel will contribute a lot next season if given the chance. The rumour at the moment is James Beattie will sign for us so if he does, robinson and L. Henderson will get very little opportunities.

I'd like to see Ainsworth given a chance next season. He's looked like he could turn out alright when I've seen him play.

I agree, although I might be more tempted to give him a more central, support striker role, as his shooting seems better than his crossing. He has blistering pace and can in theory beat people for fun, which will cause defences problems at any level. Plus, if given more opportunities and confidence he could hopefully recapture his goalscoring form for Hereford.

I think Theo could make the occasional appearance, again because pace is such a useful asset which we sorely missed last season without King, Bouazza, Young etc.

I've never seen Parkes or Henderson, although the general consensus with Parkes is that he is too slow and just not good enough for a Championship side.

I sincerely hope we will have better than O'Toole partnering Eustace in centre-mid. He has potential, but primarily he needs to become quicker and get a better reading of the game. I would send him on loan to League One if possible.

I too would like to see Ainsworth in that sort of roll!!!

O'Toole should be sent out on loan.

If he is in the midfield we will struggle.

I'm of the opinion that O'Toole will turn out to be a class act. He did very well last season considering his age and can only improve.

I agree! And i also think Al Bangura will get an pretty good season.

Bangura is very erratic and needs plaing time to improve. I think he should be sent out on loan this season.

O'Toole needs to go out as well - but only if both Francis and Williams comes back. But under no circumstances can we have O'Toole as a major player this season. He needs a much smaller part. He still has so much to learn.

he has potential O'Toole. But no where near first team material at the moment.

I much prefer Williamson or bring in another midfielder.

We dont need 2 slow thugs in the midfield.

O'Toole needs to show this season he actually has footballing ability.

Either that or he is more than welcome to return to scoring goals coming on in the last 15 mins or whatever. So long as he doesn't start. Ever.

The same youth that lost 0-2 to Southend last year, no thanks.

I thought this post was going to be about maccatwo and his merry men saving us all from the big bad away fans next season.

I think Parkes could easily overtake Doyley. He is the attacking full back we need, he is incredibly fast.

Not that I've seen him play before, but the bit I've highlight in bold is pretty much the exact opposite to every other description I've seen of him on here.

    Agreed.

    League 2 standard? Definately maybe

Have seen Parkes 4 times this season for Barnet, he is NOT good enough. They dropped him after 1 game at left back and moved him to the right where he done alright. He is no Gibbs I am afraid, and Doyley is better than him, sorry (Not that I am sayiing Doyley is good enough though!).

I see people still haven't stopped creaming themselves over Parkes despite him not even cutting it at the likes of Brentford and Barnet. He's not a farking LB either, he's a right footed fullback which makes him a RB.
