I have had an article about Watford published on Soccerlens.com

Please have a read at http://soccerlens.com and let me know what you think. Having seen it in print I think I may have been a bit harsh, but I stand by the main point.

It was written prior to the Charlton game.

Let me have your views please.

    Thanks.

the main point seems entirely restricted to your last paragraph. so while the main point (about long balls?) is agreeable, its remains poorly argued ('Boothy plays long ball, it don't work anymore' being the essence), lacking any kind of extra insight to what we've all heard before and is far too descriptive to be considered a true work of art. 3/10

Only repeating what we all know...the current tactics are not working like they did 2 seasons ago and under GT who had better quality players.

BTW We did play some good football in 05/06...

errr, as much as I would rather sit and watch paint dry, you can't say the current tactics are not working

    1 West Brom 28 27 51
    2 Watford 28 9 48

I agree with your point Graham, but felt the article was largely a narrative of our recent history, with a slender amount of insight.

Though I enjoyed the rather nice overview of recent history, I do not agree about the hoofball in promotion, nor that 'most' Watford fans were disappointed with our play.

We simply did not 'hoof' it in promotion season, we were direct but imaginative, and King and Hendo worked well together, the midfield scored many goals, Springy could put in a great through ball and our crosses were fantastic.

This is all far from what we are now producing of course, but in promotion season we were a well drilled, fast paced attacking team, not a hoofball team.

Exciting news regarding Matt Sadler. Does this mean we might have a left back who can pass and things like that?
