Your team needs you...

  1. Meh!

    Meh! Pre-Dictator

If anyone on here is directly in contact or can convey any messages to the team and player right now then please convey this:

99.9% of the fans are right behind you.

99.9% of the fans will sing for you and cheer you on.

Please ignore a couple of small minded idiotic minority of fans who may express themselves otherwise and put that out of your mind as they are the minority.

This really needs to be said. We all support you all and we are behind you all.

We know you are going through a difficult transition and we are there with you, beside you to give you as much as we can as we all want you to succeed. We support you and the manager 100%.

We need to come together as a team, as a club, as a community. We need to unite - fans and players - under the single goal, for the success and longevity of Watford Football Club.

If our full support and energy can give you just 1% extra momentum, 1% extra pace, 1% extra enthusiasm, 1% extra fight for playing for this club then it is totally worth it and can be the extra difference we need to push this season on.

Play for us who support you. We are the ones who will be there when it gets tough and we aren't going to go away. Our support for you is constant and unending.

I hope you get this message. Don't be put off or affected by 1 or 2 stupid fools.

Give everything for us and we will give everything for you.

Seriously concerned that at the one time our players have shown some affection or connection towards us and when we need them to focus on fighting for and giving everything for us we give them an absolutely complete reason for doing the bloody opposite.

More importantly if the Pozzo's see our fans behaving like some, alledgedly, did on Saturday, they might just decide to get rid of WFC and look for somewhere else to invest their money.

By all means show your displeasure after a bad performance, but the personal abuse that was, alledgedly, being dished out to individual players, by a small section of our, so called, supporters was a step too far, and will certainly not help our teams moral.

So lets all get behind the team and hopefully get us out of the **** we are in at present.

Couldn't give a flying **** about likes to be honest - they don't even count towards Orns anymore for the vbookie (sad times) so there is no point. I'm secure enough in my life thanks.

More concerned that the players don't just stop playing for us.

It was only a bloody pointless cup game, with a new manager and new formations and style. It was always going to be a tough game to win so what's the point of acting like a tw@.

We need the team to want to play for us. After that dumbasses actions what extra incentive are the players really going to want to show.

Don't tell me it's their paychecks. End of the season they'll all feck off to pastures new and we'll still be here.

We need them to want to put in that extra effort for us. Doubt that is the case if they think we are all like this dude was.

Yes they’re really going to sell an asset to their business because a few fans responded negatively. Makes total business sense that.

    Are you really that obtuse?

I am not just talking about what happend yesterday, I'm talking about the general way the club seems to be going, and the fans turning against the team in the way they did on Saturday could just be the proverbial straw that breaks the camels back.

As others have put it the whole club just seems toxic at the moment, so maybe the Pozzo's might just decide they have had enough of us and give up on WFC, after all there are many other fish in the sea that they could invest their money in instead.

Totally incorrect. You’ll find 100% of fans get behind the team each every game. The fact we took 4000 fans to the south coast in a cup that is least priority and having won one match in 11 is good evidence that our fans, together, get fully behind our boys from the start.

However, if and when specific players or a team as a whole show the club and us fans disrespect then the players deserve what comes at them. They instigate it. If you went to the match yesterday, you’ll have seen a number of players not trying until their lungs burst, not chasing down loose balls, winning 50/50 challenges, or even challenges 70/30 in our favour. I have not witnessed anything like that performance for many years - probably the worst performance under Gino’s reign.

Did any of those players realise that 4000 fans had made an incredible effort to be there yesterday? I am disgusted in Holebas. I have protected or defended him time and again but there comes a time when a line must be drawn. How has it got this bad to the point of players offering supporters to, what appeared to me, fight them. My initial reaction is that he should be sacked - the club or police wouldn’t hesitate banning fans for engaging in such behaviour after all.

A part of me is thinking that us fans need to get to stoke on Wednesday and get behind the boys, but another part of me doesn’t want to pay £100+ on an evening out to be shown disrespect by a group of players who have as much feeling for this remarkable club as that lot up the road do for us. There’s nothing there. No determination, motivation or bite.

I’ve laughed it off time and again, but if that’s the standard of football Gracia has set, we are going down.

Gino and co. It’s your time to shine. It’s one thing signing players when there’s no pressure and the club still has a squad of players to fall back on. But the scenario you find yourself in is completely different.

Then again, who would join us...

Judging by yesterday's display, considerably more than 0.1 per cent of the 'fans' aren't right behind the current team.
Most embarrassing chant of the day was 'we want our money back'. Tickets were 12 quid! What kind of people are we attracting these days?!

Clearly tongue in cheek. After that performance, the team deserves being criticised. They can’t perceive such performances as being acceptable - it’s not.

Well have any of them said the performance was acceptable?

Gracia came out and said he expected better etc for example.

But would he have said that if the fans weren’t critical of the performance? If the team believes the fans are satisfied with the dross being served up, there’s no motivation to improve.

Likewise plenty of other people who could invest in Watford. If they have had enough, then they should sell up before there’s nothing to sell.

Holebas was responding to personal abuse thrown at him from morons in the crowd. I'm sure you would happily put up with it in the street from Stone Island wearing **** wouldn't you?

I'm just surprised Holebas didn't just go into the stand and end the little ****.

This is what happens when tickets are 12 quid. There were plenty of people there yesterday that weren't really fans. Most of the negativity came from the fans to the upper far left (if you're looking onto the pitch).

Personally I had a lot of respect for the players coming over to the fans after a loss so while I didn't appreciate the performance, I clapped them anyway.

If there was anything to be gained by goading the players and negative chants then I'd be happy to agree with you. The problem is it probably doesn't and possibly has the opposite. So why do it?

That utter ***** was a total Moran and he was probably a Luton fan trying to make things worse.

I admire Holebas in one respect to not stand for it, but offering him over to deck him was unnecessary and well done Watson and Decoure was it? For holding him back and telling him to calm down.

If he really was a Watford fan then ban him from grounds.

Give it a rest, our fans have been booing every poor result and bad performance for the last couple of months. Suddenly the same lot of fans booing the players are anybody but watford fans... where have you been the last few months?

Holebas’ reaction was disproportionate. It felt like he thought Kabasele was having a go (but wasn’t), and Holebas wanted to join in and have a piece. Fans only reacted (in the hundreds!) after Holebas had the cheek to conduct himself in that manner. He’s a disgrace and should be sacked.

Did you personally hear or see this abuse towards Holebas first hand? That’s not how I saw it. I saw the abuse but only AFTER he began offering people over.

I was sitting in the upper far left - row CC in fact not far from the moronic Saints fans. The negativity from this section did not seem to me to be any more than was coming from those closer to the goal. Certainly when the "fecking sh1t" chant rang out a few times it seemed to me to be coming from the right as I sat and few were singing that around me. It seemed to be a majority of Watford fans not just a "tiny minority" and I was ashamed to hear it. I have never shouted or chanted anything as derogatory to the team, even in the depths of the bottom division. It simply does not contribute anything.

Incidentally, it's also unfair to imply that the upper far left area was populated by "day trippers" - there were just as many fans with scarves and hats as in other areas - making just as much noise.

Just out of curiousity - does anyone at all know what was actually said?

If it was a strong way of telling Holebas that he is dog faeces, he has no right to offer fans a fight regardless of them wearing a Bikini or head to toe in Stone Island...

If it was personal abuse and nothing to do with his profession, then Holebas reaction is fair and understandable.

He should not be sacked in either case as that is a gross overreaction. If it turned physical maybe but to my eyes and from what I saw, it wasn’t even close to that. Holebas was hardly jumping the hoardings to get at the fan(s) was he?

Fans have a right to be vocal and angry. And the players have to expect it. If it’s personal and nothing to do with football, players have a right to react.

    Pretty simple really.
