25 % of this would be nice  Aston Villa manager Gerard Houllier has placed an £80m price tag on Ashley Young after Manchester United and Liverpool revealed their interest in the winger. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...ter-United-Liverpool-target-Ashley-Young.html
I know this question has been discussed before, but does anyone know this FOR SURE!!! If Young, or any other player for that matter, that has a sell on clause on their head, was to move on in a part exchange deal, does the value of the player making up the cash and player part exchange, get taken into account in the sell on percentage?
May well be right I knew it was of profit but could not remember the exact figure. (by the way I am fully aware there is no chance Young will go for 80 million...)
Isn't Young out of contract soon? Maybe the Villa manager wants to start a bidding war if Ash isn't staying.. Mind you he won't be getting 80 million but guess its French humour?
I dunno what the Frenchies are on about sometimes... firstly no one is worth that kind of money, not even Ronaldo or Messi... but more to the point, we sold Youngy for £9.5m, and since then, he has consistantly been playing Premiership football, and made a lot of assists in his time at Villa. There's a reason why he's been in the PFA team of the year two times, and PFA Young Player of the Year once. To say he isn't worth £8million JRW1979 when we sold him for £9.5m is a bit stupid given what he's gone on to do for Villa. With his set-piece delivery quality, I think he would do well for a bigger team, and I reckon realistically, Villa should be looking for £15m-£20m if they are going to offload him in January. Wouldn't go near Liverpool at the moment though...
I think everyone should get over this "Percentage of next sale" lark. He'll probably leave at the end of his contract meaning we get nothing.
There has been a lot of differing figures bandied on here about how much of a sell on fee we would get if he moves on ever since Young went to Villa. Well it was confirmed at the AGM last night that that figure is 15% of anything over the amount we received for him, which was about £9.65m, I think? So come on Villa flog him in January for about £20m and that would bring us in just over £1.5m :xmascheesy::xmascheesy::xmascheesy:
http://www.goal.com/en/news/11/tran...ited-close-to-13-million-deal-for-aston-villa Manchester United are believed to be close to carving out a deal for Aston Villa winger Ashley Young, according to reports. The former England under-21 man joined the Birmingham-based club from Watford in 2007 after a fee believed to be in the region of £9.6 million was agreed between the clubs. The midfielder's stock has steeply risen since signing with his current employers, and he reportedly turned down a new five-year deal to put his contract talks on hold until the summer. With only 18 months left on his current deal, it is thought that Villa could risk losing the player for a throwaway price - if not for free - if they should keep him beyond next summer. However, the News of the World reports that United are close to a £13m deal to sign the winger. Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur have in the past been linked with moves for Young.
Its not much because when a player's contract is running out, the club have a choice to cash in now for an amount less than his true value or risk losing him for nothing (if he doesn't re-sign) when his contract expires. If he had a few years left on his contract he would surely go for something around the £20m figure, however, under the current circumstances he will probably go for a lot less such as £13m to £15m.
If Ash goes we get a % of the sale , the buyer of Ash then sells to AC Milan , what % do we get from AC Milan. :xmaswink:
18 months is the new 6 months when it comes to contracts running down and value being directly affected.
Well that has just confirmed what I was told . Ash is a long term investment by the Club , we still hold the freehold on him and lease him out to other parties . The other clubs then pay him his full wages and cover expenses. Our kickback increases as Ash's value increases . A good spot by the club's legal team. The money is ringfenced in a Swiss Bank Account. :sign15: :badge:
