Not even challenging for the ball just got the player, should have been red. hope smithy's fine we need all the quality we have got and lossing smithy would be lossing a huge asset.
I find it somewhat convenient that our best player was crocked by the bottom club when the table is so close... W:nkers. How the hell is that not a red?! Its a foot in the ****ing air, and its studs up, AND its not even challenging the ball at all! *****. I hate ****ing Charlton.
Jesus christ after seeing that, bloody hell. As we didn't even get a free kick for that if i remember rightly doesn't that mean youga could get into some sort of trouble? Oh and the last time we played charlton at home youga got sent off for tripping priskin. I can't even remember the ref getting out his cards once yesterday anyway.
That was the way I saw it live- Tommy seemed fired up and went in on a 30-70 ball type lost cause and got hurt. TS didn't really have to do it but I wish our other strikers had his heart. He was down a long time and it looked bad. The ref looked and acted like "The Count" from Sesame Street. The ref was not watching after the tackles went in, but ball watching. Like at Plymouth, the linesmen were not assisting the ref with pointing out late tackles, elbows (youga again) or pushes. I hope Tommy's damage is temporary - fair play to him for applauding the fans at the end too.
It all happened so quickly i thought it was a 50/50 and that both players had dived in. Hadn't realised Smith had been caught as badly as that, though he isn't one to stay on the floor so realised he had injured himself in the 'tackle'
Youga should of been sent of like he was in the home fixture. The refs are all **** and inconsistent this season.
Youga has always been **** against us. When he played at scunny and at charlton, Smith has always had him in his back pocket. Awful player, and a disgusting challenge proves it.
if the ref didnt book him surely there might be some retrospective action for a challenge like that hes practically dropkicking him
it looks bad, but that could be the camera angle. He may not have made contact at that point. I haven't see it on tele yet, but if he did make contact that high it should be looked at
Well i couldn't tell if he won the ball or not but some people on here say he did if thats correct then he won't get punished
To be fair, i have no recollection of the tackle, and only realised Rasiack was on just after half time.. I think cudey getting naked may have distracted me!!
i saw the tackle but thought nothing of it, happened so quick you couldnt tell if it was OTT or he got the ball and the follow through and momentum caught smith
http://www.watfordfc.com/page/NewsDetail/0,,10400~1584251,00.html from os TOMMY Smith's injury is not as bad as first feared, and the better news is that the player-of-the-season contender could well be in contention for the weekend's home fixture against Sheffield Wednesday according to manager Brendan Rodgers. The forward came off shortly before half-time of the Hornets' win at The Valley last Saturday, after initially trying to run off the effects of a crude Kelly Youga challenge on him some moments earlier.
Apparently, Youga won the ball first and followed through on Smith. Youga should've withdrawn from the challenge. Terrible foul should've been off. At least a yellow Tommy Smith Tommy Smith Tommy Tommy Smith He gets the ball He scores a goal Tommy Tommy Smith
