He's only 5 ft 3, and not allowed in the country!

I don't wanna knock a player for his height since Leo Messi is arguably the GOAT. But 5'3?

The kid looked the b*llocks in his cameo vs England in the U20's

Looked very good against England. Made a big difference as soon as he came of the bench.
If true would be happy with this.

At that size we can just bring him in hidden in hand luggage. Then he just needs to say he has been sex-trafficked and he'll be fine..

Think he would be the smallest player we'd ever had. Wonder who holds that honour currently...

McNamee, Hessenthaler and Payne spring to mind as particularly vertically challenged. Anyone got anyone smaller?

If that's the lad who came on against England then I'm all for it. Looked excellent but I presume a permit is an issue

An innovative ploy from Juan Iturbe to get back in the Premier League.

Problem we would have is that the match day mascots would be taller than him.

He was the best player on the pitch against England under 20's by a country mile.

If Spurs get him I reckon he'll get a permit no questions asked ... for us it's different but at least then Penaranda's appeal would almost have to be successful.

If he does get a WP for Spurs then I hope we kick up a right fuss.

Stick wings and a small motor on him and he can fly over. I take it you've heard of Yeferson Airplane?

Of course. Not to be confused with the later Yeferson starship and subsequently starship. Nothing I don't know about 70s and 80s pop.

Looked class at the U20 world cup, would be surprised if we paid £16m for a player from the Chilean league though.

Tommy Harmer was 5 feet 6 inches short but a fabulously talented footballer - Rod Thomas is 5 feet 7 inches, I believe. He was signed from Spurs in 1960 and sold to Chelsea(!) in 1962. He was was bought to supply passes for Cliff Holton (the contrast in physique was incredible) before Holton left early in the 61-62 season to a furore that might be matched if Deeney was to be sold for a pittance before August.

Tommy's speciality was to take free-kicks from the corner of the penalty area, line up our players to make runs to the far post for the cross, wave his arms at them to move forward as he was taking the kick and then curl the ball into the corner of the near post and bar whilst still looking at the far post.

It worked at least twice as I recall, once being in a 7-2 win at home to Coventry City when they were only slightly better than they are now.

    Tommy's obituary is at https://www.theguardian.com/football/2008/feb/22/sportobituaries

    Worth a quick read.

Anthony McNamee is also 5 feet 6 inches apparently. Both him and Tommy could be considered giants of the game....

Maybe we can pump him full of growing steroids, like they did with Messi, and he will miraculously turn into the best player in the world.

Well couldn't you have made him a bit taller ? Seems rather cruel.
