Thanks mate, I tried my best anyway. Another point is I can barely remember us signing a player since Brendan took over - that we've paid a fee for - that has been a complete flop or it hasn't worked out for. It's because every signing we make has to be thought out incredibly well, because of our financial situation. Also, our club has such unbelievable togetherness that a player never gets lost, and don't get into arguments that end their career at the club. Whereas clubs that throw money around often have poor morale and so players just go missing.
You'd think that in all the time you spend on here trying to pick up a boyfriend you would have been able to grasp the slightest amount of the forum's culture.
Listen to you making out we have signed some dud player. I can't help it if Brighton are the new Man City of the Championship. 5 million spent so far and more available. Jealously is a dangerous desease pal.
I'd say Leicester probably are the Man City of the championship, your going the same way as Darlington..
Man City of the Champ? Getting silly now mate, is that discounting Leicester who spent 5m on one player? You've got a bit of money, granted, but don't forget you also sold Bennett...
I'm off but think about this... Best young manager in this country New super stadium (sold out) 20k crowds Mega rich chairman Decent squad Club on the up. VS Debt ridden Watford Sold off best players Cheap manager option Smaller ground Smaller fan base and season ticket sales. Weaker squad. Tipped for a relegation battle.
Agreed. Leicester are the Man City of the Championship. Brighton are the Dale Winton of the Championship. Was there any truth their new Stadium was originally going to be built at the site of Shrewsbury Town's old ground?
Our finances are much better now, and debt isn't even a concern anymore, in fact we have minimal debt compared to a lot of clubs atm. Yes we have sold players but DG at any club would of gone is they didn't go up and Buckley we took the money voluntarily, we could of rejected that, but chose not to, because of Malky, rightly or wrongly. Not the cheap option, but definitely the best option. Smaller fan base is highly debatable, roughly the same imo. Last 2 re both in our situation atm, got about 6 signings to come yet.
What you are stating means nothing, we have been tipped for relegation for the past couple of seasons and yet we haven't been relegated. I understand that just because you were promoted as champions does not mean you are going to perform well in the championship. Look at what you have written about Watford compared to Brighton. Now look at the likes of Blackpool, Blackpool are of similar size to Watford and they managed to get promoted to the premier league with the same restrictions as us. So before you start spouting your usual rubbish about your budget and your squad, think about what you are arguing before going on. BTW is it true you have a new stadium?
If you check Moog's posts you'll see sarcasm dripping with every post. Don't read too much into it, it's his humour...not denegrating it, just pointing it out. As I previously said about Buckley, he is a talented player with loads of potential however once a full back 'susses' him out he tends to disappear hence why there is no consistency. Not necessarily saying he's a one trick pony but he does struggle to adapt and he once he gets riled he does become ineffective. So the question is if the teams that have come down have a decent full back then he tends to lose the mental battle quite easily and gets subbed alot because he becomes a passenger. If he can get over those hurdles then he would never leave the premiership, if he doesn't then Championship/League 1 will always be his level.
Speaking of Moog, ive just watched a video of him deadlifting, what a hunk dont let GavBHA see it though...
I think GavBHA would take anything that had a pulse to be honest. There's a real Mr Wiffles of desperation about him.
Pleased with this signing, the lads got a bit about him, and very good from a set piece which is also something we have been lacking for quite some time.
Funny that, they never seem to rate our chances, and the last time we were favourites for the drop was under another 'untried manager', a certain Aidy Boothroyd...and the rest is history, as they would say. Obviously being a 'mincey little club' like Brighton, you wouldn't know anything about the Premiership.
Don't realy know much about him but I have been assured by a few people who have seen him play that he is a better footballer than Buckley, although not as quick. But yeah he looks a good signing am starting to look forward to the start of the season now more than I was last week. :naughty:
20k crowds? We had those in the prem mate. Its a shame they will halve when your back in the lowly depths of league one.But enjoy your time...
Brighton: Aren't they as keen on Crystal Palace as I am? Something in common then? Yeates: I seem to remember he's a twisty, Paul Devlin, sort of annoying sod, good on the ball, wants the ball. I also thought he was a demon dead ball merchant which is something we've not had on our books since Ashley Young. That said, I thought he was a bit lost when he came on a sub for Sheff Utd at our place when I thought he might have changed the game. If he can get back to his form for Colchester, we have a player.
If you are talking about last season, nothing could have changed THAT game. Down to 9 men after what was it, 30 minutes? I don't think anyone could have been that much of a game changer. As i said before, pleased with this signing. I also like what Dyche has said after about having to gain his place in this side. Shows that he isn't just going to walk in and start calling the shots. And now, all this Brighton lark.....let them have their 5 minutes of glory. They'll come back down to earth soon enough (6th August) Buckley is a good player, but be wary. Can have games where he'll vanish as fast as Don Cowie down the M4. Also, you might want to purchase him a set of longer studs.
Just to confirm an answer by YouOrns to a question asked by 3000 earlier in the thread/fred. http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sp...ew_signing_has_flown_to_France_to_join_squad/ New Watford signing Mark Yeates has flown out to France to join up with the squad and is taking part in his first training session this morning. A 24-man Hornets squad went to Capberton, which is 20 miles north of Biarritz, on Sunday for a six-day training camp and although they are expected back on Saturday, manager Sean Dyche was keen for the new arrival to join the squad. Yeates joined Watford from Sheffield United yesterday afternoon on a two-year contract for an undisclosed fee.
