What is the worst Watford 11 we can put together from who we have seen at the club over the years.
Something a bit light-hearted, not malicious and something most players in this 11 would probably admit to themselves they should be in here!

    Formation 4-3-3

Iv added a couple below to start with who I think most would agree should be in but happy to change as names come in

Wasn't Darren Ward the guy who broke his leg as a kid with us and never got going until leaving for QPR?

Yes, him but he only left for QPR on loan where he excelled. Came back fixed.

We sold him to Millwall for around 400k, had a very good career playing a total of 631 appearances including playing for both palace and Wolves!

Returned briefly on loan towards the end of Aidy's time here. Not a bad signing at the time.

He was a great defender. Didn't realise he was the brother of WHU's Elliot Ward. Was still playing for Hemel a year or so ago. Not sure now.....

Keith Dublin was dreadful and surely a guaranteed starter. Senior and Dixon up front. Brian Talbot in midfield due to him being a complete ****

Perry Suckling in goal for my team. Or maybe Simon Shepherd. Senior up top. Dominic Blizzard pulling the strings.

I'd be tempted to go for Niang, purely for his attitude. Was clearly a talented player but was clear for the world to see he was using us as a stepping stone to further his career and when the result wasn't going our way, he was nowhere to be seen.

  21. Jack Bonham. Can't recall a GK having a bigger mare than the Leeds game.

Felt sorry for Jack. He wasn't mentally prepared for it. Did you see the black eye that Bond got with Poleon? Almunia had to pull out in warm up? Deeney gets sent off.
Still managed to become a decent keeper though

Perry Digweed was worse than Perry Suckling I think. I remember him injuring his thumb and a large chunk of the North Stand chanting, "snap it off, snap it off, snap it off" to the tune of 'Ere we go.

Well remembered, it was shocking indeed.

However, it turns out that he's now first-choice GK for Gillingham in League One, which is pretty good going for a Watford academy product, especially one that made such a dreadful start to their career.

I really want to put Jordan Stewart in there as the worst in recent memory. Kabba, Roger Willis, Trevor senior...can we fit Devon Whites overhead kick effort in?

Bond should also be good enough to be a starter in League One, but it appears he's happy sitting on the bench at West Brom.

Some of the suggestions on here are not even close -when we wereatruggling in the 3rd and 4th divs we had some shockers
Clearly Plumley has to be the keeper-no question
Tony Giedmintis and Mike Packer are also 100%
I recall someone called Alan Rivers who did not play much but was in contravention of the word footballer when he did
Trevor Putney in midfield? Gerald Harrison? Terry Melling - that is a midfield that would not defeat the local boy scouts
Upfront Keith Cassells, Quinn and Senior good shouts upfront

Names like Bobby P are just not sensible relative to this lot

I think that the late Jimmy Lawton should be a contender for this team. Is anyone old enough to remember him? He was a centre forward signed from Swindon by Ken Furphy (to assist Watford's promotion challenge) just before the transfer deadline in the 1966-67 season. In fairness, I think that he had recently recovered from a bad injury, but he was lightweight and largely ineffective. He played only 13 games for Watford in Division 3 and scored just one goal before he was transferred to Darlington.

Keith Cassells was a great finisher, did well once he left us. I always liked Giedmintis. Trevor Howe on the other hand. Bobby Svark had a terrible cameo. Albert McGettigan was a shocker. Coffill and Craker tried hard. Paul Mayo was out of his depth. Stephen Hughes ex Arsenal and Rangers was truly dreadful. Summed up by his sulky disinterest at a club openday. Couldn't even spell his own name on the kids autograph books.
