Woking 0-2 Watford Fc - 06/01/2019 - Fa Cup Third Round

Well if we lose we will not be able to blame the pitch. My Woking supporting friend at work says their pitch is in pretty good condition. They are a counter attacking team who break quickly and do appear to know where the back of the net is (47 goals in 22 games) and are just behind Torquay (remember them?!) in the league.

That said, if we lose I may have to quit my job as I will not be able to go into an office with a consistent reminder of probably our most embarrassing football moment.

Would like to think Spurs like demolition but feel we'll slog our way to a narrow(ish) win. 1-2 or 1-3 because we never keep a clean sheet.

I know this won't be a popular opinion, or particularly likely, but I'm hoping we field a complete u23 side and that they lose.

We can't buy a win right now and we look poor, with ill discipline creeping in as we approach the downhill straight to the end of the season. People may not realise it but we're not safe yet and I cannot see how we're going to get another win.

I can't see that the FA cup distraction is going to help us, so getting a tonking by these non league, part time fatties could be just the slap in the gob we need to get Javi the boot and get Gino to invest in some new players to seal up the obvious, gaping holes in our side.

Well, it's my insurance, at least if we lose my beers are paid for for the next couple of weeks.
To be really truthful, I am a bit worried the players are going to walk out thinking the game is already won. Never underestimate the opposition.

 

I stand corrected on both counts - it was Brentford in 2014/15 and I was there.....

 

Sometimes I wish I’d of done that in the past, but I just can’t bet against us. I feel like I’ve just cheated on my dog if I do. I really hope we don’t underestimate these lot as we haven’t seen a giant killing like the one this could be for quite sometime. Everyone but us Watford fans want you to win big with that £20 bet.
Now I’ve Watford on a 13 team accumulator my $1 bet could be beefing up my account by $4400 if the rest of my predictions go my way tomorrow. If I win ill happily buy you a few pints at a game one day.

I don't think this will be the case, we have too much competition within tbe squad and players will be wanting to make an impression and catch Javi's eye.

Yup. Hereford were 2nd in the step below Division 4 when they beat Newcastle in '72. So 80 odd places between them. Woking are 110 places below Watford. The bookies are taking the piss offering 12/1 on a Woking win.

 

It would be nice to see cassidy get some game time.

 

272 posts on a pre-match thread is a new record, just shows how different this game is to an ordinary Premier League fixture (hark at me no such thing as an ordinary Premier League fixture) however lose away to Southampton, Cardiff or Newcastle disappointing but they are in the same league as us, lose away to Woking and its pull the curtains time, go to sleep and not wish to wake up!
