I still like Aidy and will defend him, BUT he needs someone who will offer him ideas - Malky is and was never the answer. Martin Hunter may be a good coach but is not an assistant. We need someone with recent(ish) managerial experience who will offer fresh ideas and help Aidy to get the most out of the players - he can't do it on his own
It's easy to point out the manager as the one to blaim, but what the hell are the 11 on the pitch doing at the moment!? It's hard to question Aidy's team selection given that Hendo and Eustace are banned and O'Toole was injured and it doesn't matter what tactic or strategy you lay down when you concede two soft goals in 13 minutes. Granted, Boothroyd's the one in charge, but would it be too much to ask from the players to actually perform to their respective levels?
Agreed. But what they need is discipline, organisation and goals. I think the performances lately have something to do with this standing on the bar shouting 'who are we?' approach. It all smacks of a team who think they have a right to promotion. The loss of discipline by the bench last week and by Kabba yesterday are part of the same attitude. Hopefully that result will do us good, but it has come too late.
I find it strange that since our dip in form that there hasn't been another fans forum. At the last one two or three people asked him about his tactics, 11 back at corners, mahon being out of form, Marlons influance, long ball, substitutions which he did answer, but nothing since !
If you haven't seen the incident how can you comment on it like that? It wasn't arrogance, it was "we're not happy at being abused by scumbags". Now right or wrong they're not the first and won't be the last bench to react like that to a hostile opposition (or home) crowd. And I'm sure there's no correlation between league position and those who do. Fans Forums are always in the October and there's only ever been one a season. So what's to find strange?
not to get into a manager row but we have seen to many games slip away at the death without aidy doing much to sort it out and opposition showing us how its done.
If the players aren't playing to the managers instructions then surely he shouldn't carry on picking them. Therefore you have to assume that either he is happy with them or else he's a mug! Either way there is no escaping it the buck stops with the manager.
Not to mention, it was the manager who has signed the players, who has failed to build a squad with sufficient quality cover and who refused to use the loan market to help with the crucial run in.
I think you missed this bit... He is right, there's only so much the manager can do once the players cross the line, and I'm sure his tactics didn't account for the game being as good as over in the first quarter hour! Anyway he is talking about one game, so the issue of Aidy carrying on picking the same players is irrelevant here.
