Are very very poor, people like Arthur daley bang on about how poor our home support is but it's considerably better than their home support which is woeful. So i was expecting a little better coming from the harcore following, alas no. They were very poor and could onyl really be heard well a few times, we wern't great yesterday but they still managed to be worse.
i was speaking to a wigan fan in the pub last night... couldnt understand a word i was saying and i couldnt understand him... was a short conversation!
at the end of the day, we didnt bring many more fans up to there place and unless you went you cant really criticise. Wigan is predominantly a rugby town and, like us, they're support suffers from more glamorous neighbours in nearby cities. Yes Paul Jewell criticised their support earlier this season but lets not forget Boothroyds comments on sky sports news before the sheffield utd game... those in glass houses....
Fair point and credit to those that did go but you'd expect that the fans travelling during the xmas period at the bottom club would make more noise as chances are these are the hardcore following.
They brought alot more than I thought they would and were fairly noisy from the Lower R. However they seemed to be watching a totally differant game from the rest of us and were going completely loopy over some of the refs decisions. Wonder which asylum they escaped from ?????
