we have a certain amount of ***** that think clapping the players off after a shocking display like today makes them a loyal supporter....w*****s

I certainly wasn't clapping and nor where many others, people can choose to do as they wish at the end and in all fairness at times we weren't THAT bad today so if people wish to clap the team off let them. It's not up to you to abuse them for supporting the team.

So you're a **** for not agreeing with the ethos of dishing out abuse to the players at the end of a defeat ? Chances are those that clapped where of the opinion that the morale throughout the side is bad enough without them getting booed off.

I suppose you're a great fan for booing the team ? Get over yourself and stop abusing other people for the way they choose to support the team !!

someone hit this kid please haha!!

i think many watford fans will be of the opinion that todays 'performance' warranted othing positive at all! im not a fan of booing but if its deserved then so be it!

Why are peoplencerened about the poosible fragile confidence of players?

These people earn more than most of us can ever dream of, despite only playing for a second tier team. WE pay their wages through entrance fees which by most of us are paid because we wish to be entertained. I today, just like the last two months at home, was far from entertained, in fact I was spitting chips, again.

Getting bood is getting off bloody lightly in my book, so if it affects the 'fragile confidence' of these useless waters, then they need to either:

    a) Pull their socks up and play football.

b)Stop being paid my money and work in a trade where you can fail and get away with it.

Kid ? Says the one using the word ****

The performance wasn't actually that bad, the defending was but overall we've been alot worse on many occasions this season !

we have played badly at home and won.

The point today (for me at least) was that we lost comfotably to yet another relegation threatened team. Hoofroyd insists that his style of play is the way forward, yet it yields defeats, and is ugly to watch (today was only good in small patches).

If we are to lose to these crappy teams I would rather we did so playing football, rather than Hoofball.

Sack him now before it is too late.

To be fair we aren't all near-sighted *******, and can see that today's performance was the best home performance of the season, and that it was just one of those days.

So the best home performance of the season saw use get beaten by a relegation threatened team. How do we improve from this?

Until we see a significant improvement to winning games, and winning them well, I'll not be going to many games, in fact no games untill either Hoofroyd loses his arrogant stance, or we sack him.

Ipswich and Southampton were better but it was an improvment on recent efforts albeit against a weaker side than the sides beforehand who really came to defend probably for a point but we gifted them 4 goals without QPR having to really try.

BTW Did we not have a thread after the Cardiff about NOT booing the team...

So what should people do - just walk out keeping quiet/silent?

It's well established that footballers earn too much (though not always as much as we think). This is no excuse to petulantly abuse them for not giving us what we've paid for, as customers (not supporters any more).

The idea that a high wage packet makes a sportsman performing before a large crowd immune from confidence-shattering abuse is ridiculous.

Today's value-for-money-want-it-yesterday economic and media climate has turned us into consumers rather than supporters, and as such many of us sit and wait to be entertained for our 25 quid. The dynamic, and concept of support has changed, and I suppose old-timers like me need to get used to the new climate.

Guys, I have read your posts with interest, and feel the need to mention a few points, albeit from yesterdays opposition.

    1) Hoofroyd (great name and very apt after yesterdays performance) is clearly unable to come up with any sensible tactics. First half, play Hoofball up to Henderson, Second half, play Hoofball up to Shittu. Imaginative!
    2) Despite us being Sh*t for the last couple of seasons, we're on the up and at last have some money. You made your money last season and will need to spend it sensibly to go back up. Hoofroyd would appear to be unable to do that.
    3) You punched above your weight to get promoted, spent a year being the whipping boy, and now you feel that you're good enough to go straight back up. WRONG looking at yesterdays inept performance. At best you looked like a mid-table team, just like Rangers.
    4) Why were your fans so quiet, othet than after you're first goal (our 4th really).

Just thought I needed to say the points above because I think some of you need to get a reality check and realise just where you are in footballing terms. AND ITS NOT AT THE TOP.

From a QPR fan happy to stuff one of our nearest neighbours on their own patch, Thanks for the 3 points and fun day out!!

What about your fans? Whistle went to start the game and every single Rs fan sat down and...silence. You didn't really pipe up properly til 2-0. But I have to say you're the first bunch of away fans to sit down and shut up, right from the kickoff. Very odd, especially for a derby game. On the other hand our home support is shocking. Has been since I've been going.

I agree completely with your first two points, unfortunately it's complete b*llocks after that.

Punched above our weight ? We've been a regular at this level for a good few years now so promotion bids are always a possibility in this division. As for being the whipping boys last season thats rubbish. Derby are whipping boys, just look at how many goals they've conceded. Whereas we got turned over only 3 or 4 times.

As for point 4) i could say exactly the same about your fans, not many sets of away fans have been worse than that this season, and you sold out !!

We thought our lot did a good job yesterday! Sold all of the allocated tickets and made ourselves heard, maybe not at the start though.

Must say that we thought we'd have a more difficult game though. I thought your support yesterday was very poor, only started singing when your first went in, for about 10 minutes and especially as you're supposed to be going for promotion. What's up wiv em?.

Defending Hoofroyds high balls seemed too easy.

Your having a laugh! You were just less of a Whipping boy than Derby, big deal! Still never mind, as I said thanks for the 3 points, it was So Easy. I guess your assessment of away fans is quite easy, seeing as how your home support is so *****.

To be fair we have heard louder and yes our home support is rubbish...hardly a new thing.

We did not get hammered that much...yes out of our depth because quite rightly we did not spend, spend and spend risking ruin but then again we have wasted a bit this season.

Ah well, can't keep everyone happy I suppose.

It was a good day out though, The best bit about Watford seemed to be the burger van outside the ground.

Now about those 3 points we brought home?

Were you at the game? The QPR fans were probably the quietest we've had at the Vic all season, and our support was pretty d4mn good, (for once).

    Look at the stats.

You must have sh!t in your eyes and ears mate (maybe its the pain in the neck from looking at the sky for 90 minutes).

Your support was cr*p for a home side. I'd hate to see it when its bad.

  25. Chewitt

It was better than usual but our home support never has been anything special, very few places are for atmosphere from home fans. Loftus Rd not included !

    Haha!

    You have no idea 'mate'.

Now Plymouth, they came down and we could barely hear ourselves think.

We barely heard a note out of your all night, and on a 4-2 away victory for a team that is second-bottom, that is saying something.

While I agree with your post and it sums up the feeling I have as a Watford fan, can I just be one of the first to thank YOU for allegedly signing Gavin Mahon for £150k.

Cheers. Good luck scrapping against RELEGATION. :sign6:

our home support is always **** (bit like yours was at your 'ground' this year.)
    your away support was quiet

nice view from up here in second place.

Cup Final, don't think so. For us it was just another trip to a small(er) club who have had a bit of recent sucess and now think they're one of the bigger boys.

Hoofroyds lack of tactical awareness is now there for all to see. My neck still hurts after yesterday.

  33. SussexR

Our support was quiet at home, have to admit it.

On yesterdays performance you won't be second for long, a mid table finish, naturally below the R's.

Now what are the odd's on Hoofroyd being manager at the end of the season?

I'm not suprised...it's probably looking up at the rest of the division from your awful league positon, mush.

Good luck though and all that....makes a change for you to take some points off of us...well done.
