Why so much confusion over Boozer fee?

I just dont get this one

Aidy says "valuation of £5million no less"

It is then WIDELY reported that £3.9million is turned down

Now we see new reports of a figure closer to £3.5million

I know this subject has been done to death but why on earth would we sell for less than we want. We dont need the money one single bit and Boozer isnt the sort of guy who'd throw his toys out of the pram if we said he couldnt go... my guess is it would only spur him on to do better
Bouazza for me proved this at Swindon..... took his chance and did really really well.

Are Watford really going to sell for less than £5million?

I don't really care any more, just get him out.

The short answer is yes he will not reach £5 million.

Aidy was talking the price up because Boozer had convinced him his heart was not with Watford.

It was hoped that other clubs would make an offer and firm the price up, which evidently hasn`t happened.

To be fair £3.5 million is a good price for a player who shows great promise, but has really only had half a season of good performances.

The fact that he is probably worth £3.5 million to us, due to the difficulty of replacing him (although I would rather have Brunt) is academic as the guy doesn`t want to play for us - to get us back in the Prem.

What really annoys me is that the same players who are talking about wanting to stay in the Prem. are partially responsible for us being relegated - it is after all a team game.

What do you base that on? Every media comment is to the total contrary.

In fairness to Boozer I think much of this whole situation has been hyped up by his agent. I suspect without this he would probably have been quite happy to stay.
It's the bloody agents who are largely responsible for the inflated ideas of their own ability that so many players seem to have these days.

I actually wonder if Aidy really said " 5 million for Bouazza" or was it paper talk?

You also have to consider the aspect of is it a straight £3.5million into the bank account or structured payments over a period of time which may eventually be almost £5million but over a period of 4 years. It seems that the board is trying to stockpile as much cash as possible in a short time, I take it they have just gone for a straight payment in cash and nothing else.

Seriously, Ive met the guy twice... once in Watford high street and we had a pretty decent chat.. ok this was a couple of years ago and it was late but he wasnt drinking and had a lot of time for me.
I remember speaking to him then about how far he thought he could go and he simply said his main aim was to get in the 1st team and stay there..

I dunno, players do change when moneys waved at them but Hameur didnt strike me as an asshole. If the move to Fulham fell through, I am quite sure he would knuckle down.

Fact is, as he said himself, he owes it to his family to do better.... are we saying its a question of money?

Are we saying that we're not prepared to offer him what Fulham are offering?

Why arent we doing what Palace did for McAnuff? Stick it out another year and if we dont go up, then we'll gladly work on getting you a move to where ever you wanna go!

I just feel like we are cashing in while we can and it makes me sick.

Ironically I have personal experience of Boozer on a night out a few years back in town where he was very much an asshole ;)

He's obviously got a new agent whispering in his ear and is currently oblivious to the fact that regardless of the fee/wage offered he'll only be a squad player at Flam.

After all this argueing over the price the amount will probably be undisclosed because Aidy doesnt want us to know how much he was sold for because he knows it will annoy alot of us.

so far all we know FROM THE PAPERS is that a premiership club believe to be Fulham have officially placed a bid and htat Aidy has said that things will be resolved soon.

    There are then 3 options

1 - We have accepted the offer, which hasn't been reported

2 - We are holdoing firm for the right deal, which could hold things up

3 - Or we have said no and Fulham have gome away to consider any further offer.

Hopefully it's option 2 where we get the right deal, Fee, Sell on, plus add on's

Indeed, certainly an option but not one that we would have considered.

Well they must be having a difficult time on agreeing terms. No transfer yet.

Let's hope the board stick around with all this cash. Would they or could they go with the money from Boozer and Ash?

    OR

We probably wont see any major signings the money will go on the ground developement

i would be suprised if we do ever find out the figure i could imagine £3.5 million up front with add-ons. but it oes seem that it is the agent who i spushing the move rather than the player iam sure if bouazza had not got this new agent then this move would not have been so fiecly fought for

Boozer money will be spent on the condition that the Ashley Young money is completely forgotten about.

Are we gonna spend £10mil on transfers?

    Like F***

    £5mil?

    Very unlikely.....

Its absolutely pathetic and im praying for a miracle on August 11th

Completely separate.... fixed loans remember..... I can see GS using that old chestnut in 12 months time when we are all demanding to know why the transfer money wasnt spent!

    A tad strong mate.

Wolves are a good side, but are certainly no world beaters...I do think they'll finish in the top 3, but I think on our day we're just as good if not better.

I think we're all panicing far too much at the moment. After being beaten week in week out last season we're all totally demoralised and expecting something similiar this season! It won't be the case. Our squad is more than good enough for a top 6 finish again, with Bouazza or no Bouazza.

We'll get a result at the weekend, have no fear mate ;)

There is no such thing as an 'easy game' in the Premiership...realistically there is such a thing in this division...I think we have enough quality to go back up.

In all the papers today it says the fee was 3.5 and maybe another 0.5 if they get top half of table and other litttle bits and bobs
