So have we agreed that the garbage spouted about the reason Sheffield United can buy our players is , according to this thread , because they sold more ST`s than us....

    Never read such nonsense...

And it would have been a valid point too.. except Sheffield Utd always sell alot more season tickets then us each season and alot of the time at higher prices. Even when we were in the prem and they werent they sold tons more st then we did

    Pointless post number 367.

What's happened to you sir? Your posts are becoming more and more desperate and laughable. You are destroying your credibility without even realising it and as a your bestie beer drinking buddy, I can't let that happen.

More of what we used to have please and less of the drivel and nonsense above.

it's not about how many they sold, the FACT is they did sell 18k at £50 more than wfc did, which knocks back the recession theory that people can't afford the prices, they are northern scum without jobs - so its all well and good all the numpty ***** on here saying Blackburn et al premiershyte sides have done this that and screwed Leigtons backside sideways - the facts are:

Sheff Utd - championship side £50 more than wfc and didn't harm their sales
Watford - championship side. (£500k more in the coffers we may have been able to aford to keep Noddy and offer him a new contract.

    sheff utd +£900k
    wfc minus £500k

£1.4 million differential. hmmm how much is noddy up for sale for?

QPR is a diferent story as you ***** are well aware of with who owns and runs it and is a stand against them rather than not wanting to buy because they support their club.

The fact that your super hero salad creamers have come and jerked off on all of you planks would, I have thought made people wet themselves and had you rushing to the ST application form, even if they had reduced the ST ticket to what the well run Shef Utd and in tune with its fans club did thus making the club £500k more as a £30 reduction i your pockets.

You thick poor numpties, can't afford a ST - ah diddums., but the mighty workforce of Sheffield and the surrounding countryside can. WHY IS THAT?

WFC average crowd = ?? why do you canuts keep going on about increasing next season - you are so uckin thick. Last three seasons ST sales anyone, got the iinfo?

In the words of Grooming Blade - "Thicko's"

In conclusion Leighton - we have bought a £25k striker becasue we can't afford anything else as the russo winkers, thought it would be nice to have 10,000 winkers buying hotdogs and sausage rolls at home games to increase profits over a 9 month time span, something that has already occured over the past years -with average crowds of 14k plus.

    wfc fans = twots!

With all respect mate there's nothing to debate. Sheff Utd have a bigger fan base END OF.

"which knocks back the recession theory that people can't afford the prices"

That particular extract is so silly it's not even funny. Come on mate, you can do better than that.

so what you are saying is that the people of Sheffield are not affected by the recession - just because there are more people in sheffield than watford doesn't mean to say that £50 is any less value to them.

I don't get your point of your last post - you and others do not explain you just extract bits and bobs and call them silly, why is it silly, enlighten me so i can see the errors of my ways.

Jeez... you are trying to stimulate a debate for the sake of debating but to be frank, there's nothing to debate about.

The reduction in season ticket prices was a good move by the club.. it's clearly done the job in terms of the numbers sold and keeping the fans happy. Thats the point. There's nothing more to it. More ST's sold, happy fans (except you of course)

Guessing how many would have been sold had the prices stayed the same would be SPECULATING though it's clear and OBVIOUS that FEWER would have been sold. (you sell more of something if it's cheaper by the way)

Sheffield United have shat loads more money than us. Why? A few facts...

Cos their regime hasnt frittered millions away (unlike our previous)
They have a much bigger fan base
They've received a very large sum of money through the Tevez saga

The whole point of your post is to bemoan the fact that the club reduced ST prices and has therefore lost even more money and will be forced even harder to sell players. Aren't these "players" the ones we need to move on anyway because their wages are too high and we simply cant afford them? So wouldnt that happen anyway (the sooner the better?)

The Russo's have done something that the previous board (Dr Evil and mini me) didnt. They've actually given something back to the FANS.

And YOU are moaning about it.

Which makes you an idiot. :forehead:

    Sorry :]]

I agree with most of that it's true they sold their big earner (Beattie) for profit (we can't pay to get rid of ours) cutting the wage bill and making money and they didn't buy loads of average players, who would be surplus and that we would later be unable to shift (the list is laughable - Avinel, Moses, Cavalli, Rinaldi, Jackson, Kabba, it's almost a whole team!)

But there is one difference everyone (except you) seems to have forgotten Sheffield United can spend millions because they won a court case - didn't west ham have to pay them £30 million?

That can buy a fair few Tommy Smiths (and other good championship players); look at the other team who came down with us - Charlton, I think it shows Sheffield United are an exception.

Besides, they have a larger catchment area (city)
In contrast Watford is a small town very close to London, 2 London teams finished in the top 4 so most people in the area go and support them
The new trains to Shepperds Bush also make it easier for people in Berko/Hemel area to see QPR and, much as it pains me to admit it, the success of MK Dons is probably encouraging people up there to support them, rather than travelling to Watford as well.

In that case apologies for every bad word said, i was getting all raging under the collar because i couldn't work out why people wouldn't spend an extra £50 on the team they support and love - i thought it was about the money us fans have to fork out, i see now it isn't - it's about people and numbers?

my humble apologies for being a plank and a mug.

the sooner wfc re locate the better.

Jimbob, sell the freehold now while we still can - we need to move to a BIG CITY!

I fully agree that we want to keep smith, tamas, jay etc. But the players we actually need to get rid off have had no intrest shown in them from any other club. Even if we had frozen st prices we would still have accepted a bid of 1.8mil for Smith. Hopefully Smith will turn Sheffield utd down and Reading or someone buys Ellington for silly money.

Your the one with the plank compliments fella , along with getting all hot and bothered and dishing out the insults , long before i gave you any back

Theres no point discussing with you on here as you are just so long winded and like a broken record , you started a thread blaming the fact that we didnt sell as many ST`s as Sheffield United as the reason THEY can buy our players, this has been pretty conclusivley proved as garbage mainly because they have lots of money and can buy our players all day long with it , regardless of ST prices

Why do you keep bleating on ?

Like i said fella , more then happy to chat in person...cant imagine its that hard to find each other...

PYA, I dont understand your argument. In one breath you say that the Russo's were wrong to reduce ST's, in the next you say all WFC fans are 'scum ucking canuts' suggesting loyalty from the majority of us goes out the window. Surely you cant argue both points without contradicting yourself? With a disloyal fan base and with it being common knowledge that major cost cutting would be going on this summer surely you cannot argue we would have maintained the same number of ST's without the cuts?

Bringing Sheff Utd into it as an argument is laughable, the problem for me is I would be genuinely interested in what you have to say about the Russo's if I could take what you say as reliable, some of the things you and UEA have mentioned on here about them do worry me, but you coat every post in such blinkered one sided and unsubstantiated nonsense it disguises any valuable points you have to make.

    How do you know?

But that figure has no relation to facts. If our season tickets had been more expensive we'd have sold less STs. I doubt there is a price level where we could have made 500k more than we did.

Come on Paddy, you know as well as the rest of us that the lowered STs are not the reason for that. The reason for that is that GS/MA/AB signed expensive (poor) players with high wages on long term contracts.

The reason we can afford nothing but lower leaguers is that we have too much cash tied to contracts for players who aren't playing (Sadler, Eustace, Bangura, Ellington to name a few). Whatever cash we had were gambled away - lots more cash than the phantom 500k you keep throwing about.
