Why not? As a fan of the goldenboys I've yet to see a single forum that I feel comfortable with, that has the features that I like, and that listens to its members. There was a brief appearance in June this year of a very nice looking forum, but that was gone as soon as it was up! I'm patient, and fully intend to develop this forum as time passes and hopefully we can build a community. In time I'd like to see a busy board with Hornets chat just a part of it, (all be it an important part). I'd like to see more than a simple forum, including an arcade section, points system, virtual economy and maybe even a virtual bookie. Who knows? What I can say is that it's here for the long term, a bit like Aidy and the boys in the Premiership.
So far these boards are loads better than the club boards. I have never posted so often in a 24 hour period :-[
Its because it is more relaxed - u dont have to be worried that u r going to be ridiculed and called a **** by other users
Thats very true, everyone has started off on a clean slate and you haven't got the some of the ***** on here that you have on the club boards.
The ability to search threads to reduce double posting, easily see where the new threads are, edit your posts to corect speeeling misaykes all add to the good atmos here.
Beware. The longer wfcforums lives and, (hopefully), more popular it becomes then the more likelyhood that idiots will appear. Some of the best forums I've been a part of are the least moderated. A good community will always "out" the idiots. Still, it'll be interesting to watch it evolve along the way. Who's up for a party 5 years from now on our anniversary?
Now I know what they remind me of. Remember those McDonalds badges that had gold stars on them depending on the experience of the person serving you? NEVER GET SERVED BY SOMEONE WITH NO STARS. (Showing my age now)
In my younger days we had a mate who worked in McDonalds Harrow. We used to go in, order and pay for 1 hamburger each, then he'd fill the tray up to bursting with food and drinks. Happy days. I dread to think how much cr4p we ate as teens :-[
I noticed on the official board alot of negativity about this forum and I for one think it is far better than the official one, easier to navigate and the members it has so far are all sensible with what appears to be a good insight into the sport we love so much, more importantly the team we love so much! Longlive this forum and WTG to the Admin for setting it up.
The other great thing i noticed on here is if you make a mistake you can rectify it to stop yaself looking stupid!! lol
Stuff the negativity about this site, it was only the usual suspects. We gain more credibility every time we DON'T bite at the jibes. People over there are screaming for new forums on the official site but I can't see it happening for a long time yet. Every time you see a moan at the admins over there or about the boards, just gently point them this way. It'll grow here, be sure of that. Thanks for the appreciation, but it's the users who make the forum what it is, so long live you!
i have my user name and the site addy on my profile there that appears on every post i make.. wont take long for people to realise what we haev here.
I've added the strap line premiership forum for a premiership club, as an aside to my sig on the steam driven board. I've not been chucked off yet, shame you can't paste a link though.
if someone tells me how to insert a hyperlink from the little picture thing to here, i'd add i to my posts
There's no way of hyper linking but posting an image is accepted. I put this in my 'fishal forums signature: <img src="http://i9.tinypic.com/44879zn.jpg"> www.wfcforums.com premiership board for a premiership club
You can hyperlink to other sites, for example bringe can do it and Birdy does it regularly, i dont know how though.
