I honestly think we should just pretend Knockaert scored and it never happened. From my ****e 'category 2' seats where I couldn't see a ****ing thing, to the severe dehydration/sun stroke, to the ****e atmosphere, ****e game and ****e performance, it was a horrible day; and for some reason I cared less than random league defeats.
The whole day is best forgotten about. Seriously, remember the hairs standing up on the back of your neck when the players came out for the final in '99? And again at the Millenium Stadium? Even at the Vic before the Leeds game? Well on Monday there was none of that. When the teams came out I just knew we were going to lose, and Wembley is such a soul-less corporate monstrosity now that I couldn't even get excited about the occasion as the atmosphere was just non-existent - and that has nothing to do with who was or wasn't singing by the way. I haven't even looked at my programme (that was a waste of £6) or watched the TV build up on Sky+ (it's been deleted already).
It was an event to be erased from memory Wembley and the play offs is only great when you win and I never want to hear from anyone again saying ' I would rather go up through the play offs rather than an automatic spot' I don't want to go through this whole painful lottery ever again.
I'll admit I was one of the "Prefer the Playoffs" people. After Monday I am very much a "Lets get automatic promotion" people. Horrible day, move on and lets get the party started next season.
Surprisingly no, I came across that person's twitter the other day and thought people will think it's me!
