if that was the case on saturday and people booed the team i'm a bit dissapointed, have people seem to forgot that this is our best start to a season for donkeys years?
hmmm i completely disagree with booing the team however i just think people went to the game thinking it to be a wash over and when it wasnt people got annoyed. i personally was more frustrated than annoyed as we had the chances it just wasnt going in the net when we missed the penalty i didnt think we would get another goal.
What do you expect from The News of the World? I read it online this morning and the whole article was SHODDY. "the boos and abuse that greeted £3.5million forward Nathan Ellington's arrival as a substitute were in bad taste. Yet King's equaliser from an overhead kick soon after had them on their feet" You'd think that any journalist with the most basic of IQ would check the time of goals and substitutions before writing their crap.
There were also a couple of chants of shooot when Mahon, Williamson and Doyley got the ball 35yrds from goal. We had the same problem when we shouted it everytime Johnno use to get the ball in the opposition half. In fairness to Doyley he did shoot - well erm, sort of Maybe we shouldn't shout it when he has the ball !!!!:]]:]]:]]:]]
Someone asked all the people around me what our favourite Dorset town was, just after a period of Colchester domination, to which, as one, we yelled "Poooooooole!" Later on, after Colchester got the lead, a frustrated cobbler gathered up his wares and left to visit the gents. As he staggered off, a group of us noticed he had left one of his products behind, calling after him "booooooooot!"
I'm pretty sure that what the journo hack heard was the DUKE DUKE DUKE chant and mistook it for booing. We really should change that chant and I quite like the suggestion that Potguy made on another thread, which I altered slightly to go something like this. HE'S BIG HE'S BRAVE HE NEEDS A F****ING SHAVE, ELLINGTON ELLINGTON
