just another average team who sometimes play well and often under achieve.

Half time- Wigan 1 Newcastle 0.

How disappointing if you are a newcy fan with expectations of a top 7 finish.

And if it stays the way it is, it really is going to be tough (near impossible) for us :(

Abers - give up mate - 3 wins aint good enough, how can one expect or even really think that we can get the 5 or 6 wins that can even just give us a chance.

We are not good enough, haven't been since the first 8/9 games when we actually played very well, were unlucky and more importantly were creating a load of chances each game.

Our defence is now starting to under perform, due to IMO the lack of a midfield.

This time next season when we are 15 points clear at the top of the fizzy pop, we will all be saying it was the best thing to be relegated and re group and be prepared for the next premiership stint 08/09.

next season when we are winning loads of games the fans will be happy again.

Before that though lets enjoy our day out at wemberleee:)

To be honest I think yesterday was the penultimate nail in the coffin...

    You mean the ultimate?

I thought going into that game that if we didn't beat Everton we were going down, and I don't like to say this but to be honest I was half wanting Everton just to put us out of our misery...

He's doing a decent job, its the other tools they have had as recent managers that have messed them up.

Unfortunately having missed more games than I’ve seen so far this season I have been living in ignorance to an extent (which isn't bliss ;)) After the last season I experienced in the premiership when I was a young teen I got very doom and gloom. I was reluctant to let that happen again, that’s why despite the facts I wont give up, moan and will just try to enjoy the experience of being in the best league in the world accepting that this season will benefit us long-term.

Hopefully we will do well next season, I think we also have a competent Championship side, and out of the teams likely to go down with us, we will be in the best financial position with less players seeking an escape.

I’d like to add with a new stadium on the way, things are looking brighter off the pitch than they have ever done whilst I’ve been a fan

My point is you didn't think we were doomed anyway after 7.10 pm yesterday?

Wigan's result today was merely academic...

Souness is a carp manager, has never ever won anything with the teams he's been with. Also he's so bloody miserable, I cant stand him!

Er he got Blackburn promoted from the old Division 1 (would have won the league if it weren't for Al Fayed's millions) and won the League Cup the following season.

    I'd call that winning something...

(Although apart from that it's true he hasn't done much as a manager - I'd compare him to Peter Reid, successful at one club, crap elsewhere and a bit of a ba5tard, like Alex Ferguson and Brian Clough but without their man management skills.)
