That's what the move is all about though isn't it. What sort of football he plays really is irrelevant.

Yup. Most "soccer haters" are people who have zero exposure to the game, or who just like to make people get mad. Like internet people! I both love and hate talking to those fools. Oddly enough, some of the biggest haters in the press, actually are very knowledgeable about the game, but like to use it as a punch line/punching bag. So, yes that's the task. We don't stand a chance to move the 20+year old regular joe Indianapolis Colts fans, but getting kids to stay with the game is the challenge. The hate will get stronger as Becks makes his impression, but I think the game will grow in the right way as a result. Oddly enough, Basketball fans don't put down baseball much, football fans don't put down hockey much, but there is a particular kind of guy who fancies themselves well educated about sports who has open season on the beautiful game at all times. Why do you suppose they are so threatened?
