  2. The BBC coverage of Watford, along with most of the media is pathetic...

...best way to give these twXts two-fingers is to get promoted.....(would be seriously funny if Bournemouth don't go up, just to see the media's reaction!)

Yep. Just wait to see what happens if they are promoted. It wouldn't even matter if we won the Championship, it'd be all about them and their 'journey'.

Saturday does seems like an age away.I can't work out whether I'm excited, nervous, excitedly nervous or nervously excited.I couldn't get a ticket so am forced to do my usual Saturday morning classes with a noon finish. Then a drive home from Harpenden.I hate listening on the radio as it
    makes me so anxious.

My cousin Roger is a Barnet fan and he is just as fraught!

    Tick-tock,tick-tock....

We would be vilified for depriving them of their trophy. It will probably cause the FL to commission a one-off second place trophy and presentation podium thing.

The only pundit I've heard that tips us for promotion is Kevin Kilbane speaking on 5 live after the FA Cup semi final on Saturday

Pearce and Gale also predicted we'd go up on Sky this morning.

I think they are all trying reverse sikolagee now

FFP rules rely on clubs publishing their annual accounts. Bmuff last posted theirs for the year to 31/7/13-they lost £15m on turnover of £5m as they spent £10m on wages alone

They should have published the next years to July 14 by Xmas last year but did not -notwithstanding this it was announced they had passed the FFP rules for 2013/4 -how is this so ?.

Companies house records appear to show they have changed their year end so they are next scheduled to file accounts by end of this month now covering the 18 month period to 31/1/15-any conspiracy theorists would allege that this is all very convenient when they need to get promoted to deal with more losses but I am sure its nothing like that and they have changed their year end and thereby delaying publishing accounts for very sound business reasons

Watford published their accounts to June 14 in November 14

I really want to see us on 88 points after the Brighton game with our nearest rivals on 84 before they play. That is what I live for. This is going to be a loooooooong week.

I can't handle a week of this, I so want to be confident of a comfortable 6 points from the next two games, but I just can't bring myself to believe it! It doesn't feel real that we are so close to potential promotion, I have a nagging feeling we will draw one, but I hope reading everyone else's positivity will make me feel otherwise!

  19. I honestly think you can be, Brighton are in pretty poor form at the moment and we should be able to beat Wednesday at home last day of the season, I genuinely think we can and should do it this year, and even become champions...we are the best we have looked all season and are a much much better team than we were in 2006 and 2013...we have a great chance!*

(*this is genuinely how feel , but please don't quote this, if it goes txts up)

I am a natural pessimist but just starting to dare to believe...... what gives me hope is we can score goals even when not playing well

I agree about current form but we haven't really given out any real punishment to any other teams since Reading at home, but we have been really consistent and our defence has much improved.
I also quite like the fact that we are playing Brighton before any of the other teams get to play this weekend. If thats a victory for us then it really will grind out even more pressure to the chasing pack. They have a much longer wait than us, so if we have it bad now, they will have it 10x more especially Bournemouth which don't play until Monday night.
Its certainly about holding your nerve now and I really think there will be more steel in our camp than with our previous 2 seasons ago.

Or we'll lose and have to watch teams gradually leapfrog us for three days.

  24. I know that's such a great thing to have, I couldn't say the same about Boro or Bournemouth tbh (The Muff is noticeably wobbling when it plays badly atm)it really does give confidence, and is going to be invaluable in the last couple of games this season.

  25. Totally agree a good result in our earlier match and I think it will really panic Bournemouth (who are looking far more nervy than us at the moment) and to a lesser extent Boro. I honestly thought Watford didn't look too nervous against Brum, they just got on with the job, I know a lot of the papers were saying we did, but I really didn't see that at the game, considering the gravity of the match, we are clearly very focused, that again gives me more confidence...

And also has been true I suppose for us and the others around us which couldn't believe no one was dropping points. I suppose that's even harder to take as you naturally feel victorious but then get rather deflated. At least if that happens this weekend/Mon we know we only have one more week of that to go! ;)

  28. Thank God, pity it's not a 'Euro' or 'World Cup' year this year...would give us something else to think about footie wise for at least a month...lets face it watching England in a World Cup FInal prob couldn't be any more stressful than the last few weeks....roll on 2nd May

The stress of watching England taking penalties at a world cup final would be at the same levels as sharpening a pencil.

Ffs, are they still banging on about him on the BBC......they drew the last game and are now second, you think that'd be enough to shut them up for at least a couple of days or so....
