So far this season our conversion rate from shots to goals has been 3.5% according to Opts. That is terrible. Whilst our defence has been largely poor our forwards need to start contributing. Five goals in nine games is a worry.
Did Welbeck just take a knock? It looked like he was holding his hamstring... I agree though, we do need to take our chances. We have Gray, Delafoo can play a forward role and Deeney when he's back. I can only see one of those three scorong regually enough. I just hope Welbz isn't long term.

The way we played yesterday on the counter we do not really need an out and out forward so long as we remain compact and do not get strung out and utilize the wingbacks properly. Bournemouth however will come with the mindset of defending and doing likewise so we need a target man. I would like to see Success given a chance. No sign of him since Flores arrived. Gray is not someone who can hold up play for us unfortunately.
Haven't we got a few forwards tearing it up in the other Watford teams. A few other clubs this year are taking a chance on youth players. Maybe we should give a couple the chance to step up.
Bournemouth come with the mindset of defending? I would say the complete opposite to that. Success is injured and not good enough
People talk about the points that VAR decisions have cost us. We miss more clear cut chances than any other team by a long way. In all the games we've felt hard done by, it's still been in our hands to get something more but we've been shocking in front of goal. It's very positive that we're still creating a lot of chances, but I feel that without a physical centre forward, our forward play is rushed and panicky. Players like Del are snatching at the chances that come their way because when they're not running into blind alleys there's nobody to hold the ball up and play them in as they'd like. We definitely lose the spine of the team in the final third, but like I say, we're still making chances so there's got to be optimism for when Troy returns or someone else steps up.
I think they will KGT. They will still be wary and they are not exactly pulling up trees either. They and Norwich yesterday were pretty poor and I am sure they will have taken into account our recent efforts which have been much improved. I would still give Success a chance. His last one. He showed up in the Cup games. Gray off the bench for me every time or with a partner which Flores is not playing at the moment.
I still think Bournemouth will play to their strengths which is to attack. Success was ok in the cup games and I would love him to play like he did for Granada but I don’t see it.
If we play without an ‘out and out forward’ of course we will convert fewer of the chances created. Look at the chances Pereyra, Janmaat, Doucoure and Deulofeu had yesterday but missed. The closest we have to a goal scorer is Gray but unfortunately he contributes so little to the overall play and build-up.
I was arguing all last summer that our priority should have been strikers, specifically a "Fox in the box" type, and nothing has happened so far this season to make me think I was wrong
