Not worth that much money. He’s done zero at Liverpool and got much to prove after those injuries. Half that price is about right.

I think he'd be a great signing and £20m for a striker sounds about right. Yes a history of recent injuries but seems to be over them and looked sharp for Liverpool before the season end.

 

Liverpool seems to be under the impression that because they spent £70 million on an above average goalkeeper they can recoup it by selling 2 reserve strikers Ings and Origi.

 

£20m? Jesus christ. He scored 11 goals in the Premier league 4 years ago, and he's been consistently injured ever since.

I do find some of the comments on here amusing. We've seen what a decent player costs in 2018. We sell Richie for £40m+ and want a goalscorer before the window closes. We don't want a young untried player from the overseas lower leagues. We don't want to pay what it costs to sign an Ings, Welbeck etc. I guess we are still looking for that proven prem striker with a blemish free injury record for £15m are we ?

 

I think we should just get Rondom in. £15m should do it. Yes he is 28 and will have no resale value, but i don’t give a feck. If he helps keep us in the Prem for another few years then who cares

If Vydra was that good other Premiership clubs would've tried for him. Maybe he is just a championship goalscorer like he was for us.

Gray scored 5 goals in open play in 16 starts last season.
Equate that to a full season you looking at 10 or 11 minimum. Let him take the penalties as well and we are looking at potentially 15/16 goals next season. That'll do me.

I spoke to a couple Genk supporters last week and their opinions on Berge differed.
Neither think he's ready for the Premier League. However, one did say in the future he may make the required level to move, especially if he can improve his passing in defensive areas and look to shoot more in attack.

Personally anything ranging from £10m to £15m would be a gamble but quite a calculated one.
Physically he has all the attributes to suit British football and playing/training at a higher level would hopefully iron out those passing issues.

I suspect that if we really do have a deal in place with Benfica to buy Talisca in Jan for £20m then the plan all along was loan or make do till then
