Not seen us mentioned anywhere. Also, they'll probably lose Zaha anyway, whether it's to Dortmund, Chelsea or Spurs.

 

People speculating about who the unamed club are, most probably palace but ourselves and Southampton have been suggested.

Batshuayi would be a great shout if Chelsea get Higuain.

I don't think he's good enough - he struggled to get in to Swansea's team. I'd honestly prefer to play Gray than him.

Batshuayi would be ideal, but not a chance we could sign him.

Worth taking a punt on a championship forward. Tom Lawrence is developing into a class player, i would offer 20m off the back of losing Rich. Olli Watkins looks like he has premiership potential and can imorove a lot. Assombolonga has something to prove, especially at our club and first team academy products are always popular with fans. Matej Vydra is still quality...

I would have gone for Babacar as I think he will do well in the Prem, but it looks like he is going to Palace

 

Lawrence and Watkins are both wingers - we don't need any more wingers.

Assombalonga wouldn't even be an upgrade on Gray.

Vydz is and will stay a Champ player.

If these are any indication of your "suggestions" then you might as well just copy+paste a huge list of any professional footballer who has ever scored a goal in England and isn't retired, y'know, just to be sure you've not "missed" any more.

 

I've suggested him in the past, but now Batshuayi is a more realistic shout, because with the Richarlison dosh we can now definitely afford him, whereas before it could have been possible but it would have been a bit more of a financial stretch, especially the wages.

 

What makes you think we can definitely afford him? How much do you think he would cost? And then wages and then what makes you think that, after featuring in the World Cup, his personal ambition is to come here?

 

I think Lawrence and Watkins would definitely add attacking quality to the squad. It's called strength in depth which is something we lacked last season with the amount of injuries we had.

I understand your points about assombolonga and vydra.

Not exactly copy and pasting a list though am I, purely suggesting players I think look promising and were decent last season.

I just don’t think you are right on this one. I think he would be the best part of £50m and £100k+ pw, beyond us, but wouldn’t come here anyway.

He may not have been first choice for Chelsea, but that does not mean he isn’t sought after.

 

Ahhhhh the famous Pozzo model of paying huge wages and transfer fees to players that would have no interest in coming to a lower mid table team. Let's hope we get this one over the line!

 

Moose is right, there's no chance we would get Batshuayi. Even if we had the dosh a bigger club would sign him before us.

I've never heard of either of them but I'd still be thrilled because they're not Gray or Deeney

 

Schurrle, Batshuayi, Giroud, Ings, Welbeck, Callum Wilson. Some of which may be unattainable but this is our fourth season in the PL. We might need to realise that we need to start expanding the wage budget. If we are getting £50m for Richarlison - all of the above are affordable. And have much more ability than those you have suggested.

I don’t mean this to seem aggressive - I’m not one who shoots down people suggestions (my original reply was just sarcasm) - but we need to be aiming for higher and better than the names you’ve said. And 2 of them are attacking-midfielders and we have plenty of those.

 

I agree. To get him we’d be paying the richarlison transfer fee plus 100k wages.
