Predictably Mazzarri is blaming the referee......he may have a point, but he has to stop this mentality. He's going down the Mourinho route, who is clearly a target for officials now......but it's something he's created himself with this "everyone is out to get us" attitude. This is Watford, we always get poor decisions, we all know this will happen regardless, so there's no point in going on about it. Just shrug your shoulders and get on with it as there is nothing you can do about it. We've been rubbish a defending crosses all season, and he's not improved it. It's largely down to the space we give the opposition by playing 3 at the back. This is his philosophy and this is something he can do something about. He can also do something about the way we attack. Apparently he's great at getting the best out of strikers. Ighalo.....nope.....Deeney....nope.....the others he rarely plays. http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sp..._Graham_Scott_as_terrible_after_Baggies_loss/
Fair enough, but didn't the bookies predict we wouldn't vote for Brexit and Clinton would become president? #justsaying Similar to last season, our play at the moment has a whiff of free fall about it.
Maybe Sherlock can confirm or correct but wasn't Mazzari widely mocked for his time at Inter for forever blaming every one and everything else for their troubles.
Okaka wasn't brilliant, but he has barely played in this division. He doesn't deserve to be picked out for criticism when the team is full of such experience.
I cannot believe that either the players or management think this at all, and if they do, they should be given a damned good talking to. We're not Citeh or Chelski. If you extrapolate our last four results over the remainder of the season, you get to 36 points or so. On another note: discipline. Many are blaming Mazzarri. Should not the on field captain have some responsibility for keeping discipline? I genuinely don't have a view on this, I merely offer it as a discussion point...
I used to care and get annoyed, now I just accept it is just the same as death and taxes. Watford will always get bad decisions, no point in even talking about it anymore.
Responsibility starts at the top Mazzari should be laying down the need to stay disciplined. Deeney should take on the responsibility on the pitch but individuals must also take responsibility for themselves, getting booked for dissent is just brainless. Getting sent off for reacting to a foul is almost as bad.
Interesting. I didn't notice Rondon grabbing Pereyra by the throat during the game. Should have been a red for him too, then.
Lets face some reality. We are 10th in what is considered to be the best league in the world. We were missing Janmaat, Cathcart, Britos, Kaboul and Behrami, all who would be considered part of the match day 18 and all defensive players. Today though showed what we lack up front. The only real save that Foster made was from Amrabat very early on, other wise we caused them no real trouble, despite all our possession. Deeney seems to be more content moaning at others instead of putting in a decent performance, Gomes has lost something this year. To many goals he has been indecisive on or his timing and reaction time hasn't been right. That doesn't give the defence confidence. I thought that Prodil was again outstanding as was Zuniga. We probably didn't deserve to lose, but by the lack of chances we created we didn't deserve to win either.
Not sure Nyom deserved all the stick he was getting but he was a grade A **** for his celebrations right in front of the Watford fans. But even that doesn't warrant the racist abuse that some massive ****** behind me gave him. Absolutely disgusting and I hope he is identified and punished. I'd also like to make my weekly point that out set piece defending is a joke and it was the reason we lost a game between two fairly even sides.
I dont think ive ever known a Watford side as frustrating to watch as this current one. I certainly cant remember a Watford side as determined to shoot its self in the foot as this one. The scoreline isnt a fair reflection of a game in which we were not just comfortable for most of it but actually on top. An improved performance but the same old issues are still there such as the lack of creativity, lack of balance in the side & a seeming inability to defend cross balls. Cant argue with the red card, you just cant react like that. What I take issue with is McClean only getting a yellow for what was a quite deliberate stamp on Pereya. Pereya is this seasons Abdi. Is creative and has the potential to be hugely influenatial but is being wasted wide out in a postion that he is just horribley ineffective in. Despite the frustrations there are positives to take from the game, which is more than could be said last week against Stoke.
I think the make up of the team is actually affecting us, have we ever had so many dislikable players in a team? Holebas comes across a Grade A nob. Capoue the same. Deeney gets increasingly arrogant by the day. Ighalo couldn't care less. Behrami's only here because Mazzari is here. Could say the same for Zuniga. It's slightly worrying.
We really missed Capoue & Pereyra today. What do you mean they were playing? Why is Kabasele not picked each week? Along with Prodil, he's our best defender.
You've conceded the most goals from corners in the league. The opposition have scored the most goals from corners in the league. First corner, you get all your defenders to stand in a line inside the six yard box, whilst the opposition get ready for a nice run up. You don't bother using any of the seven statues to stop the bloke standing right next to your goalkeeper obstructing him. Evans was about three yards out in the middle of the goal when he headed it in. What on earth did we expect? Edit: Just seen the sad news posted on Twitter. How we defend a corner doesn't matter a jot anymore.
There was more than one racist scumbag at the back of the Smethwick today. Haven't heard racist abuse for years, and I'm wondering now if Nyom's insane goading was prompted by him hearing something from the front of the stand.
RIP Ray. It was a harrowing end to the day to watch the cops trying so hard to keep him alive as the ambulance made its way to the station. It all took far too long.
Totally dominated the game. Deserved at least a point. Birmingham city centre seemed slightly less run down than usual before the match - but watching the two fat slags fighting outside The Shakespeare as we rehydrated while waiting for our train home, quickly dispelled any thoughts that this toilet of a city might be 'on the up'.
Just watched the game for the first time on MOTD. Thought we'd lost when it was second last on. Looked like the red card was harsh, in that I couldn't really distinguish between a roll and a kick out from Pererya. What is I clear we've not had the rub in the last two games. Brunt should have had a corner but gave verbal to the officials for a number of seconds - clear booking of which we got last week more than once. Then Maclean clearly stamps on Pererya and gets a yellow. Pulis is a ****. Can't slag off Nyom if he got abused in a racist fashion. Sad news about Ray. Everyone should get First Aid/CPR trained btw and AED's should be available everywhere.
You re being a little hysterical . The highest league positions we ve ever finished in 135 years of history of the club are 2nd, 9th and 11th. We currently sit 10th. Just chill the fxck out.
