Watford are running out of time in their bid to extricate themselves from trouble in the Premiership and Tuesday's home meeting with Blackburn will be viewed as a must-win encounter.

The Hornets are in danger of being cut adrift at the foot of the Premiership, as they trail second bottom Charlton by seven points and are ten shy of Wigan.

Adrian Boothroyd's side have battled manfully throughout the campaign, but Saturday's loss at Aston Villa was their 12th defeat of the season and a similar result against Rovers could well be the final nail in the coffin.

Boothroyd is unlikely to be able to call on Ashley Young, as the midfielder edges closer to a move to Aston Villa, but the Watford boss feels he has a ready-made replacement in the guise of Will Hoskins and he is set to start against Rovers.

Defenders James Chambers (ankle) and Clarke Carlisle (thigh) remain sidelined along with striker Marlon King (knee), while new boy Lee Williamson has not yet shook off his foot injury.

Rovers have been in fine form in recent weeks, but manager Mark Hughes will have to shuffle his pack following the injury to Andre Ooijer.

The Dutchman broke a leg during the 3-0 win over Manchester City and his place is set to be taken by Brett Emerton.

Strikers Matt Derbyshire and Paul Gallagher are pushing for places, buoyed by the new contracts they signed on Monday, but David Dunn is not yet match fit following his return to the club from Birmingham.

    Skysports.com Prediction: 1-2
Rovers to heap more misery on Watford.

    Player to watch: Benni McCarthy

Already beaten by Hammers & Charlton - this is another `must win` game for us.

It looks as though the same team selections will apply - so keep your fingers crossed.

Sky Sports said we would end up bottom last season, and the other week they said we would be villa. whatever they say is wrong so maybe we might get a win;D
