Also Rodgers saying they are "key players who have been in the side all season" in isolation. It'll be called off. We should really call it off if the FA don't.
Huge news that Pereira is out for the rest of the season though. They'll be significantly weaker whenever we play them.
Yeah this is getting called off. The question is are they going to postpone or cancel. This is likely to run and run for a while
Maddison and Pereira injured... Convenient for Mr Integrity if others come down with Coronavirus isn't it.
Trouble is, their players would just need to cough a few times on the pitch and say they feel awful and our markers will run a mile.
I know a few Leicester fans, either personally or on here, and haven't met any who aren't decent people. Man U fans, on the other hand, ...
Thast what I mean they are hardly glory hunters. Even after the prem win they are unlikely to have picked up many of those. They just be ordinary people from the surrounding area no different to any other non top 6 / non-sleepy giant team
Well there goes my final home game... personally there is no point now almost. First the arsenal game now protentially ours. Write it off, let the season be void and sort sonething out financially for the EPL clubs, with PL money help if possible. No poinf putting players, staff and fans at risk. Italy have done it, France are close.
Promotion ? relegation ? titles ? compensation for TV deal to be paid by all clubs, etc ? It's really not that simple....
Im happy for relegation and promotion to be based on current league position. But dont think it should decide who wins the league
I will smell a rat if none of the 3 are tested, or test negative. If just one of them tests positive presumably the rest of the squad will need to self isolate for at least 2 weeks.
Perfect ...but if we had been 3rd bottom based on one goal GD, with 9 games to go, you'd have accepted being relegated ? or two points behind but with a game in hand ?
One solution maybe to call the present table final. Sort out PO games behind doors, limiting the games greatly. I know its not a perfect idea, but possible worst case.
See #160. I think we either need to finish the fixtures allowing extra time or call the season null and void. You can't relegate teams based on GD with 9 games to play and one of the relegated teams having a game in hand which could have got them out of the bottom 3.
But it's not our players. They're opposition players. So we should just prepare for the game and insist it's played until such time as the authorities say otherwise. No need for us to fall on our sword and cancel the game as some sort of noble gesture.
Ongoing testing.... might not know till tomorow by the earliest then. Fingers crossed its just mild Flu. Wish them all the best x
Postpone completion of the leagues and cancel the euros so there's space to finish the season if the virus permits. That would have the additional benefit of ******* off UEFA.
Not a great day for Leicester - 3 players in isolation and 2 key players injured. Sounds like the sort of thing that should happen to us.
If those three Leicester players do have it, the rest of their squad are probably carrying it too. That means playing them will likely result in some (or most) of our squad contracting it. We've got ample reason not to want to play them right now, even if they're weakened and we potentially gain an advantage from it. We'd be risking losing key players from our squad in the coming weeks, assuming the matches somehow continue to run.
Hopefully tests should confirm one way or the other tomorrow ? I agree it's an issue if they do have it. If the game is played it has become massivley important that we get points given the uncertainty over what may become of the season.
