Good old BBC - apparently we are famous for our black and white stripes...

 

Well, i emailed the shop to ask about the non sponsored home kit again today, and they said to order online as normal and then email them the order number as they had ‘very limited numbers in stock’. All done now and so hopefully tomorrow or thursday i’ll get a stake free shirt.

 

I've seen the child kit which doesn't have the sponsor on and it still looks shyt, so don't get your hopes up.

 

I'm a watford fan of over 40 years... what is this hope concept you speak of?

Don't know how but it looks better with the sponsor.

 

I note our home strip ranked 38th best in the league. The away strip did even better, storming in to 35th place.

Every single aspect of our club is just complete shyt.

20. Well, these aren’t great. On the home kit there’s a lot going on with sponsors, the faded lines and it’s all a bit too much for my eyes. I have a bit of a headache looking at the home shirt. Sorry, Hornets’ fans. The away shirt isn’t bad at all.

This is actually something that is very fascinating and I have been watching for a long time - it is a movement really essentially built and grown entirely from 4chan, but it's been going there and spreading out for literally about 10 years - it has been having a growing tangible effect on the real world for quite a while now (take Elliot Rodger, the so-called 'Supreme Gentleman, in the US, as an example from all the way back in 2014 - or, more recently, the Christchurch shooting), but because a lot of less 'always-online' people (particularly older generations, but it's also plenty true of younger ones) still just see the internet as another country/a world removed from the '3D' one, they have no idea of it's reach, or even of the existence of what is reaching.

It's insane to see what was literally shytposting on 4chan back then, mostly on the theme of Pepe (the 'beta uprising' being a key one), leading now to genuine acts of domestic terrorism and become incredibly intertwined with Trump support, QAnon and anti-vax conspiracies. And that's what it needs to be labelled as, despite this Plymouth incident literally being described as not being terror-related by police.

 

After they counted down days to previous kits and launched them with some cringey videos, the club’s now just gone ‘third kit’s on sale too’ with a link to the club shop.

Didn’t Leventhal say it would be released in September?

Great to see a decent interesting kit with the fabled 'bold' design produced, but I don't see why it took them until the third kit on our return to the Prem to do so. We'll presumably barely get to see this, especially as they have gone in hard on promoting the relatively identikit red away kit too.

And yes, in case it's not clear, I am a big fan of this. It's no Inter Milan home kit, but it's far and away the best of our bunch and the only one that really stands up to any scrutiny.

I like the colour and the yellow trim, but it would be much better without the zig-zags and of course the horrid logo.
