In the last few seasons we've had bars, stripes, halves and now we look like we play in the South African league. Can I ask would any other team that plays in a solid colour tolerate such changes of identity? What happened to the famous yellow shirts?

Would Man Utd ever play in stripes now, Liverpool change to half and half or Brazil tarnish it's famous kit?

Whoever gives out the kit requirements needs to look at the sport sciences too and not tender it out to primary school pupils

I was browsing Lazada (SEA amazon) to see if kelme had a presence and I could get the shirt through there and I came across this template kit.
I think this could have been a beaut as our home kit.
Also the GK shirt isn't bespoke that's a template, I suspect the Away will be one of their templates too based on that.

The new kit is growing on me but I do like a simple design I would happily slap a badge on that yellow one below and call it a day[IMG][IMG]

If its a template no one else has is it really a template...?
I like that shirt more than the new home
But I like the new home more than this year's kit that was awful

I do not hate the new kit as much as I did when I first saw it, in fact it has grown on me slightly.

Someone has posted a mocked up version of the shirt on this forum where the black "starburst design" has been substituted with a shade of yellow that is slightly darker than the rest of the shirt, and it is amazing what that does to the design, because IMO it almost looks quite classy like that.

Never mind though because the best thing about the actual design is that it's going to become one of our classic retro kits because..............

But we aren’t known globally. United and Brazil are icons of football who are know in every village and township in the world. We are on a par or lower than the likes of Southampton and Brighton - look at their 10 last kit designs, and you’ll see there is plenty of moves away from their classic stripes at times.

I agree our shirt should always just be plainly yellow - but that’s just what I like. I’m certain the kits aren’t designed with people like me in mind. A playful twist now and then I think is good - but I do agree that we have changed it 3 seasons in a row now and seem to be on some sort of quest to be unique.

We're already unique with our four-head-coaches-in-a-season policy. Maybe we should have pix of the previous season's incumbents on our solid yellow shirts?

i have just spent 10 mins going through this thread as I bought the same thing and couldn’t believe somebody hadn’t already mentioned it. I’m guessing we are about to become big in Japan

This is always my favourite thread of the year.

Outraged of Bushey says "hate it, sack the board!".

Chubbycunt from Borhamwood says "hate horizontal stripes on my svelte man belly".

Been a good set of outrage this year, well done folks.

    Excellent.
    Classy.
Petition Gino to use this next season back in the Prem.
    Will also save Kelme €000’s.
    Job done.

Who cares. They score 80+ goals in it we’ll remember it fondly.

my 6 year old loves it which is good enough for me as he’ll be the one wearing it on our house.

That's the whole point - We are already unique as there are very few teams that play in solid yellow with black shorts with a red tertiary colour, it's our usp and as well all know under lights at The Vic it looks something else. Kit wise we shouldn't be looking at Saints or Brighton for examples

I really didn't think I would like this kit, but it has grown on me since the first leaked image of it. The goalkeeper kit is superb and is an A Tier kit.

  14. Big fan of this brown man utd kit.

    Be a nice away shirt.

  16. Shirt just arrived.

Thinnest cheapest shirt I've ever had that feels like it might actually dissolve in the first wash.

    Seems very poor quality.

This is interesting/intriguing; my brother's just arrived. After your post I told him to watch out and give us a rundown: he said that it 'doesnt feel thin and cheap, it's a very stretchy material and the fit is a lot better than any previous'.

He also added that he imagines it would not be very flattering if you're an overweight middle aged Dad (no comment on that one with present company)...

  20. Ha fair enough. I'm a middle aged dad (with no spread yet fortunately!) So have always been a medium.

This does fit equally as well as the past 2 seasons mediums and it definitely is stretchy!

Just seems really thin and lightweight compared to the last few years.

Maybe that makes it better quality and the last few have been poor maybe!

What my brother also said was that it felt more like something you'd actually play sport in than any of the previous kits he owns; maybe that plays into it somewhat?

  22. For motorcyclists of a certain age, the new kit reminds me of the vile ziggy zaggy stickers sports bikes used to come covered with n the 90's.

The reveal statement actually used the word ‘spandex’. Not even kidding.

  24. I'd definitely agree with that.

Less a replica shirt more an actual playing shirt.

For the sake of science I decided to weigh a few previous kits that I could find in my drawer. These are the few I have up here - the older ones are in my garage in Watford so will get them the next time I'm down.

    07/08 - 181g (Beko)
    09/10 - 217g (Evolution)
    13/14 - 143g (star trek uniform)
    15/16 - 152g (horizontal stripes)
    16/17 - 178g (collar)
    18/19 - 152g (vertical stripes)
    19/20 - 164g (half n half)
    20/21 - 179g (kelme)

Interesting and surprising to me to note that this was actually one of the heavier shirts on the list!

Got my kit in the post today. It's a Montrose away shirt. Great for the gym

  28. On next week's show we'll be analysing the elasticity of the shorts and it's effects on the tightness across the buttock and looking at the shot to goal ratio based on the thread count of the socks on the various kits

    I can't wait and I bet you can't either.

It does say in the press release for the new kit that “fans will wear the exact same jersey as those worn by the players on the pitch” so this seems to support this statement.

    Oh no,
It was being worn by a fellow hornet, who i briefly contemplated shouting ‘you orns’ at, before deciding to revert back to wondering why i was in the supermarket and whether to go self service or slow humanoid till... i lead a thrilling existence.

They a full range of Watford merch in Lidls in Taunton. Car stickers, mugs, oversized pointy fingers, a huge stock of red yelow and black flags and an entire aisle for pin badges.
