A good win but seriously Quique must now realise that we need to play with width now? When Amrabat and Berghuis were out wide we looked a real threat. They both did more in 20 mins or so than Jurado did in the 65 he was on. Either play him in the centre or dont play him at all (I would prefer the latter tbh).

I dont like to moan when we win but against any other team in the division we would have been more that 2-1 down at the 90 minute stage.

Measuring against last season when we had been promoted by now and we're all wondering how we'd get on in the Premier League and who would stay or go. Now we're mathematically safe with a few games to go and......oh wait.

Getting away from "QSF - stay or go?" for just a minute, why wasn't the Villa chant of "There's only one Graham Taylor" acknowledged yesterday? At least us old gits in the Upper GT ave them a round of applause. Villa are one of only a handful of fans who recognise the status and achievements of the great man.

Were the 118 sulking because they couldn't drag-out that confounded Capoue ditty?

    I didn't hear that chant

It was sung on two occasions. I was the only person who clapped it from where I was sitting. No one else acknowledged it and I thought that was a bit weird at the time as well.

Ive just seen this. How is Amrabat ****?

He has hardly had a chance but when hes come off the bench in games we have looked far more dangerous.

Unless you are on a windup?

Not sure it isn't the other way around.

Had the forum been around there would probably been a fair few complaining about GT. it was sung by a few in the LGT as well but not as many as you would expect

Don't think he's on a wind up. He's just one of these people who make their mind up about a player early on and won't be swayed no matter what.

St Albans looked nothing like a team in trouble yesterday. Bodes well for next season.

Doh! I was looking at the figure for Stoke City!

Yes.. sorry 6th top gross spenders. We should be challenging for Europe!!

Figures a bit misleading as includes 2 to Granada. Isn't Decoure our record signing?

Also we have had to spend more to build up a premier league squad, all established prem league clubs are merely topping up

Hope we go for quality not quantity in the summer

Is it fair to measure teams in their first season in the PL against established members of the PL? Surely you have to spend a fair amount just to have a chance of being competitive. Something ourselves and AFCB did......

Promoted clubs should be among the higher transfer spenders. They have the most work to do in order to meet the standard of the league. They also tend to have smaller wage bills, which allows a bigger percentage of the TV money to be spent on transfers versus paying existing stars.

A promoted club without a high spend is very likely to go right back down again.

I think its great that the Pozzo's have already bought Penaranda, Success and Doucoure for next season, rather than panic buying our owners have spent millions on them three in a planned way..

60 million maybe this season but a third of that is for signings that they new we wouldn't see until next.

Also with Sinclair and that Ally Pally fella also reputed to have signed I think next season looks exciting.

Or those bored with our football stayed at home and watched it online.

I saw plenty of empty seats which were full earlier in the season.

If you read back the question raised wasnt about measuring our spending against other clubs.. but was about people suggesting we havent spent this season.

    The figures confirm we have.

Plenty of empty seats in the games below....I could go on...however some perspective on yesterdays opponents would be helpful...or could it be Watford have too many fairweather fans who turn up for the big games only?

    I read the article.

Actually its 3 fees that are different from the Transfermarket link (did you read it?) They were for Doucouré, Penaranda & Jurado (a total of £10m disputed) Or have you included Oulare? Who was said to have cost £4m more?

Either way it isnt most as we made 11 signings that attracted a fee. So no need to be sarcastic eh?

I think that's a good call....this line up is not working and a lone striker may well be more effective

We were playing a relegated side,so why would you expect a full house? It was a good gate.

Mike, on a Bank Holiday, attendance figures at home (20,653) were about the same as Man City and Everton and higher than Newcastle, West Brom, Southampton, Palace and Norwich (amongst others) clearly a lot aren't that bored or if they are, are still prepared to go.

Got out of Occupation Rd quite quickly so that was a positive, plus the 3 pts.Shame about most of the performance but I'll take mid table for our first season back in the Premier. In fact I would take it for our second season as well.

This is a good point. Also, if you haven't sat through the game, seeing 2 late Watford goals on the vidi printer seems like an epic comeback.

I completely missed the home game against man Utd and everyone was moaning that we were awful. To me a narrow defeat to manure seemed reasonable, but I trust the people who viewed it and said we were turgid all first half.

The fact is, the outcome of games and the season has largely been satisfactory, but the journey to get there is painful to watch at times. This is why the media will be baffled at a manager/coach who's season has been more than satisfactory being kicked into touch by owners and fans who are bored to tears.

I'm pretty sure, although somebody might be able to confirm, that official attendance figures include all ST automatically.
