Update from Mogadishu: This week's game was a much quieter affair, due to early KO I had to slope away and watch it discretely on my own. That said, I saw plenty of locals down town in ManU shirts, F***kin' Plastics!
Troy Deeney, Sebastian Prodl and Valon Behrami were immense today as a spine. Deeney terrified their central defense and the break over the international weekend and worked wonders with his fitness, he looked far more mobile and sharper in the last two games. The battle of the man-buns was not just won by Prodl, he absolutely walked it, it was the best performance from a Watford central defender for a long, long time, at Zlatan hardly had a kick, having to drop further and further deeper with every minute. The same goes for Behrami, how QSF didn't see fit to play him the second half of the season I do not know (bar the spell injured of course), the snapping and snarling at Pogba's heels stopped any influence he may have had on the game. On the mention of QSF, I think it is fair to say that the last two games show the measure of his ability against Mazzari, who again made some excellent substitutions when we were in a dangerous spell in the second half and yet again switching formation when it was needed. On a side note, Rooney is absolute total garbage. How does he get in their side? He is absolutely dish water.
I'm unsure of its meaning, but would it be correct to say we 'mugged off' Manchester Utd today? I hope so.
Really enjoyed that today. When you saw the firepower that manure had on the pitch then you couldn't be anything but slightly concerned, but my god we dealt with them with a cracking defensive display. When you think how many actual saves did Gomes make today I can remember just the one. Rooney was total garbage, it was fantastic to watch him implode.
Barring the header, Gomes didn't make many actual 'saves' but more commanded his box well and was brave in going out for the ball multiple times, particularly when handling Cathcart's (?) poor backpass very well at edge of box where it could easily be a penalty conceded.
http://www.redcafe.net/threads/post-...atford.421891/ Hilarious they really think they have a divine right to win every game. Times are changing and clubs like Man Utd are in danger of being left behind with the new wave of football and Mourinho, I doubt he will see the season out, but with the pay off he will get to add to his Chelsea pay day, I doubt he will be bothered.
Just seen Deeneys interview after the game he mentioned that there were some real men at the club this season, I wonder if that is a reference to two players who left pre season namely Jurado and Swarez
All in all, a tidy little Sunday lunchtime, although I did have a big fat Utd fan next to me as a "guest" of a season ticket holder, I gave him my best glaring face when they scored, then spent five minutes telling him how sh1te Rooney, Ibra, Pogba and Fellaini are, and when he tried to stop me I told him...quite succinctly, that if he didn't like it, he should fark off where the at fans are supposed to be, also told the ST holds he was a disgrace....and I hadn't even been drinking.
Watford vs Manchester United 3-1 Highlights http://goaltogoals.com/2016/09/18/watford-vs-manchester-united-3-1-highlights/
It worked out well at the end, but in the second half at 1-1 I thought it would be Man U scoring the next goal, the way we have unluckily lost before like Spurs/Man City last season, Chelsea this one! An absolutely fantastic result after lasts weeks beauty, what a good time to be a Hornet!
The way we managed the game over in the corner at 2-1 was a thing of beauty. I years gone by we automatically went into panic mode when in the same position and invariably bottled it, not this time.
And yet....Rooney will still start next week. Rooney will still be talked up in the media as a top player. Alladyce will still let Rooney play where he wants. The longer it goes on, the more certain I am that Rooney uses 100k of his weekly salary to pay off the right people.
I nearly went into panic mode when they started playing in the corner, it's something that can bite you in the Bum!
My point is you don't know what he was referring to, so why can't you move on with the rest of us? Cheap attacks are petty.
People go on about Pogba costing loads, but Martial was what? 55mil? He was awful. Really, really bad.
Yep, the fact we conceded that goal then still went on to win comfortably was brilliant. I'm almost glad we conceded to show we now have the character to still go on and win. The west ham come back gave us a lot of belief. What I'm trying to say is we are ****ing ace
I dislike Jurado and Suarez as much as the next person, if not more, but it certainly wasn't a dig at players from last season.
Little trivia fact for you all Today was the second time in 2016 we have beaten the current holders of the FA Cup
Especially considering troy has already started who he thinks the club's hard men are: himself, behrami and holebas. All of whom were there last year anyway.
Flip side is, otherwise makes me wish we'd played Chelsea after spammers. We'd have won that too. Remember, we played as well in much of that game and still came out with 0. Difference today was belief and grit.
Called it.What a result, what a team, this is what life is all about hope everyone enjoys there evening.
Agreed. We have leaders all over the park now and it shows. Nothing to do with last season. Just a more mature squad.
Also lets not forget Deeney's role in OUR penalty area when Man U attacked. He made several really important clearing headers.
Did anyone else notice the comical spray by Michael Oliver when he was trying to arrange the wall? Certainly diffused Zlatan
We've now scored 25% of our total goals from last season in our first 5 games. It also took us till our 10th game to get 10 goals last season. Man Utd are still ****.
