Yes, the goal was prevented on the touch line not from the sort of cross we can only dream of. Antonio was running in and is a tank compared to Paredes and had the desire to get there. Had Murray had the desire to concede the foul and take a booking on the touchline, it's likely we'd not be discussing a draw.
We had these sort of comments during the Pozzo's first season, just take it as a compliment cos it means little ole Watford are doing well.
He is wrong to generalise but some of our fans are arrogant nowadays, and the highlighted text is kinda true...
I love hearing them for that exact reason. Constantly being branded as arrogant aswell its fantastic.
The only reason Forest's team is any good is because they're owned by the Kuwaiti family who poured millions in through some bull**** sponsorship deal.
Not bad from the worst set of fans in the country, apart from Wolves, for blinding arrogance and a deep seated belief that they deserve success, based on the fact that they were good when the cold war was still going strong. All the Forest fans I know just parrott "back to back European cups" like some sort of jihadist nutter everytime you talk to them about football, even though most of them weren't even born. They all moan like there's no tomorrow too if they're not top or winning every game.
Yes, but they fail to say that when we do have talented English footballers, their manager got them to play Stone Age football and fail on the big stage.
Worst away fans of the season IMO. Hardly heard a peep, they didn't even celebrate their goals very loudly.
Well, one of Igloo's goals was a rebound from a badly-taken penalty and another was a tap-in, admittedly after he had run half the length of the field to keep up with Vydra (and then he almost messed it up by nearly running offside). From what I saw, he didn't seem to do much else against Wednesday, though I have to say that he was much better last night. For the first 20 minutes I thought he was still the weak link, but he reacted very quickly to Munari's flick when scoring his goal, he showed great skill at the beginning of the move that ended with Vydra's pen, and he played a few other nice passes. I'm upgrading him from "fail" to "not proven".
The first came down the right yes but Watford were in comfortable possession at the back at home. You'd expect JCP to start advancing and in fact he took up the perfect position a minute or so before and was totally ignored while the ball was worked out to Pudil to lose. Next move he took up the same position, this time Abdi guffed up and turned attack into frantic defence. Some seem to be inferring Antonio did something special to finish it off but all it really was was whack on the afterburners and slot it through the keeper's legs. I've not been his biggest fan so far but I thought JCP was impressive last night.
I'm also going to upgrade Vydra from 'uninterested' to 'putting himself in the shop window', Abdi's clone from 'bad impersonator' to 'walking calamity', Gomes from 'clown' to 'bucket of tinsel', Paredes from 'World Cup player' to 'not as good as Doyley lol' and Deeney from 'legend' to 'wishes he was Marty McFly'.
I'm not a great Ekstand fan, due to his lapses in concentration. I was saying how well he was playing midway through the first half, then he had a long awful phase before finishing the game well. I'd prefer Cathcart mk. 2 (if he can keep up the form he's shown since coming back) or Hoban, though i admit that Hoban was dreadful in his short cameo last night.
Thoughts from last night. Doyley should be our right back when playing a back four. Can we get Belkalem back now Bassong is injured? Centre half injuries cost us promotion .
Yeh, but the bloke who tried to catch the ball was utterly hilarious. As good as Delboy propping up a bar.
Slightly disappointed Apart from the first 10 minutes, Fessi was a complete liability giving the ball away time after time. Sliding to the touch line to sty and prevent a throwing may look good but in all honesty its totally unproductive. Murray isn't developing into the player I thought. I didn't think that Abdi had a particularly good game but Murray far from filled the position when he came on. Gomes looks like a disaster waiting to happen. Apart from all of that, we played some bloody good football and dominated for long periods.
Considering they had 1600 here last night I though their support was bloody awful, Brentford could teach them a thing or two about how to support your team with a bit of passion.
Have to sort of agree there are times when he takes 2 or 3 touches too many. Most notably when corners were being cleared to him on the edge of the box...when he could of passed it back to the corner taker who had space but instead took to long. We also nearly got done on the counter first half because he tried too much skill. I'm a fan of Fessi but still needs to improve his decision making. Also while on Fessi... in the second half he was leaving Pudil terribly exposed.
We played very well until we tired. With such pressing evident, I think we will continue to slow down towards the end of the game, but hopefully we will learn to finish off teams earlier and see out games more comfortably. I was very glad when we signed Andrews as I believed he would be a big character and help us see out games, but I didn’t envisage how badly we need him towards the end of the games. He is solid and leader in the middle with a little bit of intelligence which we are missing. Our formation is incredibly attacking. Usually in 433’s, the wingers help with some of the defensive work. I would like to see us sign a defensive left back and (I can’t believe I am saying this) play Doyley towards the end of tight games, as Paredes and Pudil leave a bit too much space against pacey and direct runners. Then the question remains, who will be our CB’s when everyone is back and fit? Cathcart and Bassong seems pretty formidable against Championship forwards, but I think it is a bit unfair on Ekstrand who has been fantastic recently (I wasn’t at the game last night however) and especially Angella, who has been one of our best players since he joined.
Interesting difference between the Sheffield Wednesday and Forest boards after our matches against them. Thought the Sheffield fans came across, broadly, as a pretty gracious bunch in defeat. The Forest fans, however, seem to suffer a bit from the 'big club' mentality in the same way as those on Leicester's FoxesTalk did. I'm pleased to report that, according to one of the Forest fans, we're not just a tinpot club but we're the original tinpot club.
Forget about the 3 or 4 fantastic efforts from the edge of the box that produced very good saves. If we are relying on FF or Vydra to track back and back up the full backs then we are barking up the wrong tree
I see where you're coming from, but he was gaining on Vydra all the time, and if Vyd had delayed his pass a second longer, Igloo would have been offside and the goal wouldn't have counted. It didn't look to me that he was paying much attention to Vyd's position - he was just busting a gut to get forward as far as possible.
Gee, thanks! Actually I'm quite happy at the moment - I had a lovely time last night. Let's hope it lasts.
Many of them do give credit to us, but seem rather bitter and resentful about it. I'd rather be tinpot than full of hot air.
