Think we will win this. Confidence high and Forest will be anything but with their recent results. 2-0 to Watford.
a. Think we will win this. b. Confidence high. c. Forest confidence low Has all the ingredients of a 3 - 0 win for Forest.
FIFA Predicts... Watford 2 - 0 Nottingham Forest 63' - Ighalo - Abdi chips the ball into the box, the defender mistimes an interception and Ighalo smashes it into the bottom corner 80' - Deeney - Deeney receives the ball on the edge of the box, takes a touch and fires it into the top corner with his left foot Watford substitutions: 75' Munari off/Murray on 77' - Dyer off/Deeney on 88' - Ighalo off/Forestieri on Man of the match: Sebastian Bassong Odds: Ighalo FGS and 2-0 @50/1 --------------------------------- P13 W9 D1 L3 Pts28 GD9 We would be 1st in the table Top scorers: Vydra (3) Anya (2) Deeney (2) Most assists: Abdi (4) Ighalo (2) Tozser (2)
Gomes Paredes Bassong Ekstrand Pudil Abdi Tozser Munari Forestieri Vydra Deeney Subs: Bond, Doyley, Hoban, McGugan, Murray, Dyer, Ighalo I swapped Doyley and Ighalo out for Paredes and Deeney. I know we won 3-0 last game but it would be good to have Deeney starting again.
I expect this to be a difficult game partly due to our opponents, but also the predicted bad weather. We'll need to keep an eye on Burke and Antonio's pace, which is why I'd play Hoban ahead of Pudil at left back. If we produce a performance as good as at Sheff Weds I can see us nicking it by the odd goal.
I will be very happy if we get 4 points from our next two games. If we play well I think we can easily win this game with our attacking prowess and improving defence.
Perhaps play Doyley at LB and bring back Paredes at RB in that case. If any position needs strengthening in January, LB would be it IMO.
If we play like we did on Sat and so do Forest we win comfortably obviously it never works like that, but I honestly think if we take the game to them early we can really scare/unsettle them and get their fans against them. If you asked me last week I'd have said guaranteed loss but after a hugely encouraging weekend I think I'd be disappointed not to come out with something. Forest are a very good team but low on confidence, a few big players injured & Lansbury out. We are high on confidence, Deeney back and even though we are top I wouldn't say the pressure is on us. Few big calls for SJ to make, does Deeney come back in when Ighalo is scoring? Does JCP regain his place after a clean sheet? Can Tozser play 3 games in a week?
I hate to say it because this is the perfect time to play forest, but I'm getting slightly concerned now that this hurricane could cause massive problems on Tuesday and could quite easily see this match being called off. And even if it does go ahead, the playing conditions could be very difficult! I really really hope I'm wrong tho because otherwise I'm predicting a 3-1 win (with decent conditions) a scrappy draw/ 1-0 win either way (with bad conditions).
T I suggest we kick towards the Vic. Road end with the SW wind at our backs in the first half and then, at half time, use our Joker and as the hurricane increases in ferocity, continue to kick towards the Vic. Road end in the second half ...
Regardless of form and other factors I see this as a season defining game. Forest will be in the top 2 at the end of the season. If we don't lose then so will we, if we win I predict first place
Vydra loves playing Forest. He already has four goals in two games. With him hitting sublime form again, I reckon he'll add to that. Feeling very confident. Forest haven't been very good for a while now, despite sitting in the play off places. Ripe for picking quite frankly, especially at home.
Forest are over rated Pearce is a very over rated manager Honeymoon period over Pleases Reid isn't fit as he always seems to cause us problems Boro on Saturday will be harder Paredes for Doyley. Deeney for Igloo. 2-1 or 3-1 to us with Britt almost inevitably scoring
Agreed with all of that. But SJ implied in interview that Deeney wont be playing the whole game as they need to ease him back which only seems appropiate of hed been out for months
Tough call this one. If this fixture was played 5 weeks ago, we would lose. After the previous few games, I'm confident we will do well in this game. A 0-2 win to forest it is then.
Must win game. Everything the Pozzos are planning for the club hinges on getting three points out of this. There has literally never been a bigger game in our history.
The 2 goals Forest gave away against Cardiff were lapses of concentration at the back which Mr Pearce would have reminded them of. Also first game from an international break can yield funny results and performances from some players . If we beat them tomorrow we will have worked very hard and earned it.
Assombalonga is going to run through walls trying to score against us tomorrow. Hopefully the defence is ready.
I wouldn't have thought Assombalonga would have any gripes about us, he never really played for us and his first full season was on loan to Southend 2 years ago. When he returned it didn't take a rocket scientist to realise that his chances of getting into our first team and maintaining a place was going to be very hard and/or very unlikely so I fully understand why he wanted a transfer but I'd be surprised if he bore any sort of grudge.
We forced him out the door, that's why. We told him he'd never be good enough, that he was no good. He couldn't stand that type of rejection. He's out to get us and nobody and Britt means NOBODY will stop him if he goes one on one with Gomes.
It's not about holding a grudge, it's about him wanting to prove to us we were wrong not to value him above other options. Logic doesn't really play into it. He's going to run himself into the ground tomorrow night.
In other news, from 3CR: I like the "not for the sake of it" comment. I feel that unforced rotation undermines the team's ability to produce on the pitch.
