All very correct and agree - apart from the fact that last night was certainly not attacking , or entertaining - the reason most people are down is not because of the result necessarily but the way we played, especially second half, it was truly woeful and very deflating to watch.

Incredible that just 1 points separates 2nd and 4th. Some seasons the top 2 in the Championship are out of sight by now. This year, potentially, it could come right down to the wire, the final day.

Wouldn't it be sweet if, two years after Warnock won promotion at ours on the last day of the season, we returned the favour against him!

It was a very tricky header Vydra was really stretching to get there

Totally agree..it was dis-spiriting. Let's hope it was just a blip, maybe down to the international matches (a bit like Man City's shocker tonight) and having to play on a Friday night etc. One small advantage of playing a day earlier than everybody else is we now get an extra day to recover before next Saturday..whereas Leicester have a midweek match too.

Today might have been one of the best days regarding results we've had, perhaps a brighton-hull draw would be a nicer distribution of points, but none the less. Especially Leicester losing to the worst side in the league and Cardiff being incapable of scoring against the defensive might of Huddersfield.

Rest easy, I won't become an author, but on the other hand it would be a decent who done it! Sorry.

I'll try to explain, but go easy on me. When I say old, that is a bit misleading, he (the old boy) was in about his late 30's early 40's - he was the supposed Millwall fan, he chanced his arm with the Palace fan, who hit him (ok so far), a guy intervened and broke it up (don't know who he supported), he was then called over by the supposed Millwall fan (the one originally hit) who then, despite saying he was with a kid, lumped the bloke he had called over! Clear as mud I suspect, but that's as good as it gets I'm afraid - anyway, must get back to my next novel...

    Whatever, it wasn't very pleasant!

On this **** at a stag. Still hurting from the performance and result from last night (and the Charlton result) but in my drunken state I realise that this is the club I want to support, I will have the downs, but lets get real, this is a good time to be a fan, results went our way todAy, no fear of relegation, fighting for promotion, we are not Portsmouth. I am content, and fu(k the begrudges. There is enough sh1t to get you down, challenging for promotion is not one of them.

Just watched the highlights on HP. A few things to add:-

Fitz Hall - as has been said, gave the ball away with some slack passing out of defence BUT - what a cute little chip across the box to Cassetti for our second goal. Quick thinking and a delicate touch are perhaps not always associated with his game, but he showed them there.

He was unlucky to get booked so early on, but took one for the team really after Doyley got nutmegged. On the downside, he was the wrong side of the palace player who headed the corner down for their first goal. He got nowhere near the header. Perhaps fooled by Hoban jumping and missing it completely just in front of him.

Abdi - Had a good game and could have scored more than once. Missed a good chance to slip Vydra through with a 1-2 by opting to have a wild shot instead.

Vydra - Didn't react at all to the cross that came in when the palace defender missed the ball completely. People talk about the missed header, but that was also a sitter if he'd been really sharp and on his game.

FF - You can't fault his effort. People have criticised him for giving the ball away for their 2nd goal, but it wasn't through lack of trying. He lost the ball way up the pitch in the first place through receiving a shocking overhit return on an attempted 1-2. He then chased back all the way harrying the palace player who'd won the ball until he slid in and won it cleanly, knocking it back to Hoban. It was Hoban failing to react and missing it completely that let them in for my money. I don't think you can realistically blame FF.

Is it me or is Chalobah frequently being knocked?

He's a tough cookie though. Gets up, plays on.

I thought that was a fair analysis til I read this bit. There was no way in billion years FF was deliberately trying to play that ball to Hoban. If he was he should be taken out back and shot.

I don't really see what else he could have been trying to do. Hoban was the only one anywhere near where he played it. Admittedly it came fast to Hoban - it was a bit overhit, but I think that was his intention. The only other possibility is that it was a way underhit attempt to concede a corner or play it back to Almunia.

It was just a tackle !!

I've just watched it again to see if I can work out where you're coming from. And I'm sorry Clive I can't. It's a sliding tackle. That's it. No attempt to pass the ball, no clever trickery, no thought behind it. I think you're seriously over-analyising it.

He just tackled the player. There was no attempt to play it to anyone. It was a bit of a shame as well, as without the tackle being made, Hoban had it pretty much covered with FF applying pressure. Oh well. And no-one's criticising FF for the tackle, so don't worry about that. Was just unfortunate.

Don't get too upset, it was only terminology - if I was referring to him literally as being old, I would be officially ancient and dealing with incontinence on a regular basis - anyone seen my tena pads for men?

I can 100% guarantee the guy was not Millwall.

Been a lot of condemnation on our sites about the broken chairs , no decent fans want to see this, and also the chair throwing, injuring fellow fans, brain dead people sadly.

  27. Jelboy

Not sure how you can 100% guarantee that he wasn't from Millwall, but likewise I couldn't say he deffo was - it was only based on what somebody else heard just prior to the incident - so unlikely, however it doesn't distract from the fact that the whole incident was bang out of order - which I think we both agree on.

As for the chair throwing, how stupid is that!

You've added decent contributions to this forum Pink, enjoy the rest of the season - we may yet meet again. Glad you enjoyed the Rous!

  28. What is really disappointing is the lack of self policing, and that unfortunately reflects badly on you all.

Hardly all, bur defo those in the area of the seat breaking, apparently a group of teenagers , 3 pints of stella in there bellys and a desire to be DD.

  31. Should be a rule that away ticket prices are trebled for clubs who can't keep their idiots on a leash. If trebling doesnt work quadruple them. Price the tw@ts out of football. Use the money in a pool to repair damage wherever they have been. If they behave for a year the prices goes back to normal.

Watford FC will be fully compensated for all the damage caused by palace fans on Friday night, that is how it works, as i said before get the bill in the post . As for doubling/trebling ticket prices, why punish thousands of decent fans for the wrong doings of a few ? Apart from this incident, palace fans behaved and brought a large number of fans who swelled the coffers of your club.

Yep agreed. You can't punish everyone for the actions of a very few.

How stupid must they be to sling seats into the crowd though? Very easy to do someone a serious head injury, god alone knows what if it was a kid.

It can't be an easy business to snap a seat off and chuck it. There must have been a fair number of Palace fans who saw the teenagers in question.

It would have been good if they'd turned them in to the cops.

Apparently some one was seriously hurt, and possibly a second.

On going debate on our sites , do you dob in fellow fans for wrong doing, bit of a 50/50 split. I have witnessed and been party to palace fans pulling up other fans for being ****s, strangely its not always the younger ones, we have plenty of idiots of all ages.!!!

  35. Great, the damage gets paid for. But exactly how does it 1) stop the idiots from doing exactly the same thing again and again, 2) encourages fellow Palace fans to step in and tell the children to behave or they get a right hook, and 3) prevents any bad PR damaging football.
