I don't agree about his so called transition, yes he is in exceptional form right now but he has always been a decent player, it's just that many of you jumped on the BooBoy bandwaggon and unfairly branded him a bad player. He has never been a bad player, a bit of a miserable git yes, but not a bad player, now finally a lot of you have removed the scales from your eyes and started to see him as the decent player he is, and he even smiles a bit nowadays as well
At least you found your life partner out of the situation. Always pleasing to see love, regardless of age, flourish.
Am I the only one who thinks the new bloke at Arsenal looks uncannily similar to Leonard Rossiter as Rigsby?
As long as he looks like Indiana Jones. Incidentally, are you able to state publicly what's your fascination is with Indy?
Some great stats from the BBC match report: This was Watford's first league win over Tottenham since May 1987, ending a run of 12 league games without a victory over Spurs. Watford have won each of their opening four league games of a season for just the second time since 1988-89 and this is the first time they have done so in the Premier League. Since Gracia took over as Watford manager in January, no side has won more home Premier League games than the Hornets' seven - which is level with Arsenal, Liverpool, Man City, Man Utd and Tottenham. Watford's run of four consecutive Premier League wins at Vicarage Road is their best home run in the top-flight since December 1986 (also four straight wins). Deeney became the fourth player to score in 100 matches for Watford in all competitions, after Tommy Barnett, Ross Jenkins and Luther Blissett. Holebas has been directly involved in five Premier League goals so far this season - more than any other player in the competition. This was the first time that Tottenham have lost a game they had been leading in the Premier League since November 2016, ending a run of 48 league matches without defeat when taking the lead at any stage.
Anyone else doing **** all work today, as they are just combing the internet for coverage of Watford? To be fair, it's pretty slim pickings, as we're very much an afterthought, not even being given star billing in reports on the game, which we won! Still, under the radar. Loving the new season. Love the way we are playing. Just how important is our fitness? Spurs are known to be fit and press relentlessly, but we beat them at their own game yesterday. Does this also bode well for injuries? We've no new ones so far this season and four matches is typically enough time for us to lose 7 or 8 players on long term injuries.
Bit late to the party but what a turn-around yesterday. We looked absolutely dominant after their goal; it is great to see after so many limp displays last season under Sliva. It is also hugely encouraging that so many players have changed their mentality completely. The team actually looks like a team now. Garcia has to take a lot of credit for this and you can see that there's a humility from the head coach down to the players and everyone is on the same hymn sheet. When Sliva had his head turned last season I cannot imagine the dressing room was a particularly happy place. Garcia's mentality is so refreshing and he is always complimentary about the fans and the players.
That’s not really it though was it, him being miserable? Do you not remember that ridiculous handball? Or when he just fell over and pretended to be injured? Or his inability to get back and defend even the tamest of crosses into our box, or the endless stream of overhit corners? There are actual legitimate grounds for people to say he has improved this season beyond just not being miserable.
So effectively we have in Going Down a somewhat frustrated middle aged man, who has posted 29,000 times on this forum alone, with what looks to be a a profile picture of Indiana Jones, then denouncing any knowledge of that, whilst simultaneously earlier trying to take the P & bullying another poster...then calling me out as though I've found my long lost gay lover. Interesting?
Funny to read the little shift in the general assessment and agreed point of view about Watford from the expert and the not so expert. We've gone from pre-season relegation no hopers with the manager sure to be first to be sacked, to (beat Brighton) maybe possibly avoiding relegation, to (beat Burnley) probably avoiding relegation, to (Beat Palace) comfortably avoiding relegation, to (Beat Spurs) our proud current position of 'may finish in the top half of the table'. Let's hope we can keep them reaching for the Tippex.
Slim pickings indeed, but we have at least recruited another member into the Will Hughes Appreciation Society: https://www.independent.co.uk/sport...h-southgate-creative-midfielder-a8520116.html The decision to call up Lallana (18/19 competitive minutes: 3) over Hughes (18/19 competitive minutes: 344) just looks even more bizarre after yesterday.
Morley's classic biography challenged the notion that Disraeli had no principles. He had many principles, said Morley, it's just that they weren't fixed in their habitation. So aftet starting as a Blackheath rugby fan he'll have seen the light and vacillated between Wycombe, Watford, QPR and Brentford. Which means he would have been a season ticket holder at the Vic since 1979.
Contrafibulations to you and the future Mrs dth! Spurs fans deafening in the silence in this part of Hertfordshire! I expect my 'One Topic Tottenham' 5pm lesson will be suddenly very interested in bee keeping or teaching ravens to swim underwater.
Where's Burnsy? That list of weekend jobs around the house for the newly married appears to be taking it's toll.
As were Southgate laughable comments about English players not playing enough. What he should have said was, and I'd have respected him for it, there's not enough English players at sponsor friendly teams.
