Not necessarily. Palace can be good at smothering teams away from home and nicking a goal on the counter attack. West Ham can play that last game with the shackles off and enjoy themselves.

I wouldn't know who would score but apart from that this sounds like a reasonable scenario.

Of course "not necessarily" because any match result isn't set in stone, but I wouldn't want to go to that last game assuming that AV won't beat WHU. I think almost certainly they will get what they need from that game if their destiny is still in their own hands and it's meaningless for WHU.

Yes CP might stop them winning, in the same way we might win our next 3 matches.

Think 5 points will be enough. The funny thing is we could draw every game and stay up winning only 6 games.
Not sure what the record least amount of wins to stay up is.. think Villa can beat only Palace and Bournemouth maybe beat Soton. It would be pretty awful for us to concede an avalanche of goals against city and arsenal an go down on goal diff..

anyone who thinks we will win tonight needs to have their skull sliced open and their brain donated to science, to allow deep study by neurosurgeons on such a rare case of being a ******ous terd.

    we have NO hope. None.

Why do you think AV can beat CP but not beat WHU on the last day when WHU have nothing to play for and AV could stay up with a win or maybe a draw ?

Last season was our chance to do something notable in the league, but unfortunately we fizzled out big time from about March. Shame, because the top 6 are the top 6 (yeah, Arsenal and Tottenham have struggled and probably won't hit the heights again for a while now, but they're still way above us), then Leicester and Wolves look like they're here to stay as European contenders, plus teams like Newcastle Southampton and Brighton should improve (the latter two as long as they keep their managers anyway), if we stay up, it's looking more and more that we're gonna be mid-table at best with the occasional cup run, potentially struggling like this season. Same for anyone else mind you, even teams that look comfortable now, they're not going to last for too long in the top flight

**** it, if crowds aren't allowed for the start of the new season, Football League teams will probably going to jack up prices to compensate, won't they?

I wouldn't put anything on Palace to do us a favour, Bournemouth aside (who have been awful since the restart) they've been poor, as if they're on the beach already

Just over three hours to go till kick off and I for one am absolutely buzzing for this one! Two teams who will be fighting tooth and nail for every blade of grass in a epic end to end showcase of what makes the Premier League the best league in the world. Two teams who are going to go out and show the world just why they deserve to be here, with a demonstration of pride passion and attacking flair.

    Genuine question;

If we do stay up, what would need to happen next season for you to be happy and positive about the club under the Pozzos?

And I don't mean generic terms like 'more ambition' or 'more soul and pride in the club' - I mean specific things.

Cantwell and the full-backs would be well out of our price-range. Pukki we might be able to get - he's 29, so that fits our model - and it would be a good day for us if we could sign Buendia.

To be fair there is a good chance that West Ham might need something from that game to be certain, although the probability is that they will be safe. I think Villa are very poor unless Grealish does something special they are unlikely to score a goal, if Villa go a bit more attacking as well which may depend on tonight's result Palace are a very good attacking team and it will suit them.

IMO West Ham are far better than Villa. Think there will be a shock win for any of the bottom 4 and if it’s muff or Villa that get an unexpected win we will go down.

Max Aarons has been reported to be going to Tottenham, according to some reports Norwich have put a 30 million price tag on him. Out of our price range I think but he is 20 years old and is full of potential. I think that their full back on the other side Jamal Lewis is garbage, and he is a scummer.

If we were to win 1-0 with Deeney scoring the winner does that mean Deeney is our hero again? :D

If Palace can go to Bournemouth and win I don't see why they cant go to Villa and win if they want to. If anything Villa are worse in attack than Bournemouth. Hodgson will do his usual away match tactical talk something like "keep it tight lads, don't give them any time, and see if we can nick one". The way your talking the away match tactical talk will be "don't worry lads, do what you want, don't matter if we lose, its bad news for Watford".

CP conceded 7 in their last 2 away games, lost vs Burnley and haven't scored since beating Muff.

Those teams aren't in the bottom 5 fighting relegation. A different quality of opponent. Admit that its about the players' attitude once they cross the white line and you might be right, they may have a don't care attitude, its possible, but I got a feeling they will get something.

Usually when push comes to shove, the teams in deperate need of points start to get results, think of Bradford, WBA, Sunderland under Poyet/D Canio. We haven't seen that yet this season but I can't believe it will last. I fully expect at least one of the 3 of us to win 2-3 games and pull clear. I'm hoping it will be us but not confident. I think it's very unlikely that none of the 3 of us will win more than one game.

I don't think theres any scenario in which Deeney doesn't start tonight

Our best hope is that Welbeck starts alongside him

Why on Earth would we want to sign him though? He's had an even more dramatic fall in scoring ability than Ighalo had in winter 2015 (watch him nick the winner today now).

Hopefully we will be hoofing balls left, right and centre into the Nawich box, hoping that something falls for our lethal forwards. I am sure that Sarr has the beating of their fullbacks, but he needs to wait for Deeney to get in the box before he crosses. Either that or cross the ball back to the halfway line, where Deeney can attack the header

Deeney could start his "run" right now and still wouldn't make it into the box in time for one of Sarr's crosses at the end of the game.

Does that mean he will be dropped ?

I've seen a lot of him and he is a great prospect. Been struggling to adapt defensively this season (which Norwich player hasn't though) but is great on the ball.

I'd be surprised if he doesn't have a long Premier League career.
