Today was really disappointing. But it's not some epiphany that proves anything.

Essentially there are 3 premier relegated teams in the division who are a cut above the rest and one team that is doing an amazing job in consistently performing above their potential in Ipswish. All today reiterates is that the majority of championship teams are not a million miles apart and are all capable of beating each other home or away on any given day. We are not a bottom 6 club we are simply one of a number of teams not as good as the 3 or 4 best teams and apart from today we've done well lately.

There's no point having him on unless we are getting lots of crosses into the box where he has been incredibly effective. Ironically, we seemed to get some crosses in after he was subbed which may be part of the conundrum. I'd rather lead with Bayo or Healey and have Raj as an impact sub, his hold up play is simply not good enough.

My opinion is as valid as yours. If you don’t like what I say, don’t read it or put me on the ignore list. Very easy solution.

Both Bristol City and us has a chance to win three on the trot today for the first time this season, they managed it and we didn’t, we were the team with home advantage, coming off two tough away wins against teams (higher up the table than us when we played them), we could all have been expecting a routine win against the same team as our last game of last season, when we won 2-0! Since then we have changed our team greatly and improved team spirit. However you rarely see a broke bookie and football results often bear no logic.

The second half was improved on the first in an attacking sense, but we don’t seem quick enough to move the ball forward which allows the opposition time to get back, they often had 11 men behind the ball. As others have said we won’t go up and we won’t go down, sorry for the stick coming your way @Malteser2 we go again Friday!

I know this is no excuse, but Watford hate Boxing Day. We always put in a turd performance, no matter the team, season or manager. Fulham (5-0), Millwall twice (0-2 and 0-3), Wolves (0-1) yesterday (1-4) and there are others. Maybe we can play our game on the 27th instead. It's just very odd, has the club got it marked with a skull and crossbones on the calendar in Gino's office or something?

Put simply, he's not a traditional chalk on your boots winger, but he played like that (or was forced to) today. You could see there were plenty of times he had the chance to get the ball in the box, but had to get it on his left foot which lost us a bit of momentum, like everyone else, not his best game, but he still threatened to drag us back into the game for all of a couple of minutes with an exquisite pass which nobody else in the squad really has in their locker

Kayembe has been great in recent games but had a bad one yesterday. I have just watched the highlights and he gave the ball away for all 4 goals.

I hope he can get back to his good form on Friday.

I think a lot of players in the squad are replaceable if they get injured or are dropped/rested, but there's a reason why both Kayembe and Hoedt have played every game for a long time, and it really showed out there

I’ve not seen you before, so thought you are just one of those newbies that pop up from time to time, just to have a splash. But I’m surprised to see you’ve been a member since 2009!!

However, I’m not going rise to your baiting. I will continue to post honest views. If it upsets you then ignore me or don’t read, like I suggested before.

I wish you a good day.

He is better in the centre, rather than on the wing without doubt. Unfortunately there seems to be no room for him in the team there at the moment.

He's best on the right drifting into the middle imo, but there wasn't any space there yesterday which forced him outside, the one time he managed to get the ball in a more central area, we scored. Think he'll be a regular going forward as his main rivals for that spot in the team are Ince (a squad player at best), Martins (better on the other side, cutting onto his right foot, might get a few games on that side depending on Lewis' injury) and Chakvetadze (who in any case is firmly established as a bench player, but who we also might need in midfield)

Your option is as valid as anyones. But you're obsessively repeating it and in my opinion displaying self righteousness that any bad result somehow proves you right.

People also have the right to post an opinion disagreeing with you or pointing out inconsistentencies in what you have said without being told they should ignore you.

They don’t have the right to throw around accusations, or call you a liar. Personal attacks are frequent on this forum, but is something I’ve never taken part in. I don’t see the need for it.

I’ve seen a few snipes from you recently too, so it’s no surprise you are having a say. No doubt LR will wade in, but he’s on my ignore list as I don’t need to read his views.

Look, I just post honest views. If you don’t agree, debate, but as always it gets personal and hostile and descends into rants, which I do not care for.

For the record, I think we have a bottom 6 squad, VI is doing a good job in elevating the sum of the parts into something cohesive. I happily admitted last week I thought I was wrong about being in a relegation battle, as I think VI has done enough. I dont hide and will always front up. But I’ve repeatedly said I do not trust us or convinced about the team. Yesterday proved all my fears correct. A team on the up does not have performances that bad. It wasn’t a difficult fixture, but we made Bristol City look a division above us. This is why you just cannot trust or put your faith in this collection of players. IMO of course.

I miss watching the 3 feet tall goalkeepers having to sprint towards either goalpost in the man-sized goal in a vain attempt to reach the ball as it gently rolls and then nestles in the corner of the net.

We are a classic midtable team. Very unlikely to be good enough for the playoffs, or in danger of relegation. Every now and then we'll have a good or bad run which brings one or the other into view before we head back towards the centre of the league. Anything that happens in the January window will be minor tweaking. We will not be assembling a squad strong enough for a serious promotion push. We don't have the required funds.

Sadly, I think you’re correct. 3 players max I would say would be coming in. To me it’s obvious what we need, a major overhaul, but January is the time for tweaking not overhauling. The recruitment was a bad fail in the summer, and we have to live with the consequences. It all stems from one man though and his lack of competence.

Have to give Titty FC huge credit, people have said we've been worked out, and that looks to be true, but we were hardly re-inventing the wheel, I'm sure they didn't identify anything that anyone during our good run hadn't already done so, but they've been the only ones (apart from the top two who are up there for a reason!) who have been able to take advantage

Your reply to wfcsinatra was condescending and dismissive and a little rude tbh. Which could be a spark in a slanging match. Very much against the quote above and repeated here; "Look, I just post honest views. If you don’t agree, debate, but as always it gets personal and hostile and descends into rants, which I do not care for". You start it. Rant about it and wonder why people comment.

We still have to live through their bad choices and still have the incompetent owner.

For me, this coming window will confirm our intentions. Will we make shrewd, intelligent signings, showing some ambition along the way, or will will it be more of the bargain bucket feeding frenzy or will we show no ambition and do next to nothing. Probably a combo of the latter two.

All teams in the division (apart from 3 or 4) have results that bad. Yesterday didn't prove anything anymore than beating Preston proved we are a top 6 team. We're not gonna win every game or play brilliantly all the time. We are not going to be on the up for the whole rest of the season and are inevitably going to have bad spells.

most games in this division are potentially difficult fixtures, it's what makes the Championship more interesting than the prem in many ways. PNE probably thought us at home was not a difficult fixture so does that mean they are a bottom 6 club.

We were bad yesterday but the collapse at the end was accentuated by all the attacking players we had on which left us vulnerable and was compounded by errors. The attacking subs worked at Blackburn but didn't yesterday. Even though we were bad throughout i thought the key movement was their 3rd goal so soon after we scored as I think we would have got a result if we hadn't conceded so quickly.

I'm sorry if it appears I've been sniping but if I'm honest i do find some of your posts frustrating. Imo I think you also make snipes too at people so I don't agree when you say you've never taken part in this.

I’m not sure if you’ve been watching the championship this season but it’s the standard mediocre league it always has been , with a few exceptions. Our first 11 isn’t bottom 6 . It’s mid table . If we had a decent all round striker and a few extra decent squad players we probably would be playoff chasing.

We’re Malky Mackay’s Watford . There’s a unity there we’ve not seen for a while. Capable of giving anyone a bloody nose , but unlikely to mount a playoff charge or to go down . Some of us may have been getting a bit excited ( including me) by the recent run , but of course the city result has been a reality check . It doesn’t negate what VI had achieved though or take the joy out of the recent results .

How we respond to this will be a major factor in where the season goes though.

I agree. However, I still think we have an outside chance for the playoffs purely because teams like West Brom, hull, pne etc are not especially any better than us. We could also finish in the bottom 6 if we underperformed consistently but i think this less likely. But yeah midtable most likely and this will no doubt be confirmed by the bookies odds.
