Haha amazing, couldn't make it up! If Alder (not going to bother trying to spell the second half of his name) is still injured then it's probably Dier & Wimmer CB with Trippier RB! COYH!!!
The Spurs defence, regardless of personnel won't have an easier game all season come New Years Day. Loris might as well bring a deck chair.
Splendid. Evens things up ever so slightly. Just a tad. 3 players a booking away from a suspension with the amnesty on the horizon....and they all got booked. I bet Poch ain't best pleased.
Soccerbase has him on 4 after today plus 2 in their Euro games so not sure he is out. As said it would have been reckless for 3 Spurs players to be on 4 yellow tonight so think it was just walker and vert what's his name
From the replies I imagine people find you tedious. You are repetitive. Perhaps you should step away for a few games and if we mess up you can quote your thoughts? Otherwise it just feels like a copy and paste job. All your posts are identical.
But a 'magnificent' save? He did well going the right way but the penalty was so under hit it was easy to stop.
It was magnificent, not spectacular, and that describes it exactly. Gomes completely owned Benteke, making the Palace striker play literally into his hands. Gomes hardly had to do anything because he'd beaten Benteke before he even put the ball down. Magnificent.
You could say Deeney's was lucky in a way as he hit straight down the middle just past the goalie's legs... All pens have a bit of luck about them - but I do like them to be hit hard which at least gives you a good chance of netting it.
A lot of his pens go down the middle. I thought keepers did a bit of research of penalty takers so it surprising none stand their ground. Then again you'd look daft standing still when he smashes it in to a corner...
Take your penalty here and see how you get on! http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...ot-kicks-are-scored-at-major-tournaments.html
Difficult to know what to make of that - most scored bottom left, but also most missed and a good proportion saved. On balance down the middle, between 3 and 5 feet up, seems to be the best place as none missed and only 3.6% saved. There seems to be a glaring omission in charts - percentage of shots taken scored for each sector.
Hit the ball in the top third of the goal and the keeper never saves. All your penalty taker needs to practice is keeping it below the bar.
Agreed, I've always thought the same. Cant be that difficult for a pro footballer surely. As as side issue, I'm sure some home sides are nobbling the penalty spot. Happened last night with Harry Kaine. The turf under his standing foot slid like a rug on a wet bathroom floor as he went to take it. I bet if a Saints had had a pen it would have been taken by a left footer, thus standing on the other side of the spot. Not the first time I've seen this & it's always the away side that falls fowl if it.
